What's new

India's "great afghan hope" quietly fading away

I wouldnt be surprised if 70% of them are unaccounted for. Do you realize, your leaders had created a channel, with nothing but a porous border standing in between. People will of course move towards places with better opportunities, that's natural.
Can you blame them for what they do ? What you are doing is a classic example of blaming it upon the effect, for the cause!

I was born, raised and educated in London UK. Went to a london university as well. Have lived here all my life. I work here and pay taxes. I have a British passport aswell.

Afghans in Pakistan just TAKE TAKE TAKE and give nothing back. I have heard Afghans in Pakistan say they will kill everyone in Pakistan just to stay there. The strain on the Pakistan economy is too much.

Everytime Pakistan tries to seal the border with Afghanistan the Afghan leadership has fits and gets the americans and UN to intervene. Plus the Afghans always find a way to break the borders down.

ye like kabul resturant in islamabad , pindi , sialkot , gujranwala , karachi , quetta and scholarship for afghan students in all the unis of Pakistan baby you peeps are only inviting your chaddi buddies of farsi origin and they are not true afghans pushtoons will decide the fate of Afghanistan not the farsi tajiks or uzbeks

Bro, from my last visit to Pakistan over a month ago I can safely say that half of Afghanistan is already in Pakistan. Farsi and Persian Afghans included.

.
Okay, point taken. Right, now go ask an Afghan if they are physically and racially indian and see what their response would be.

There is no homogenous "physical" and "racial" definition for Indian. If you ask me a Tamil if I feel physically and racially a Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati etc......of course I would say no....and vice versa (mostly).....but we still identify as Indian. Some are closer, some are farther way, some really far away...like the north easterners who can look quite sinic/tibetan.

Since when have physical and racial standards (which often are quite unscientific to begin with) defined being an Indian? Even within just my state, do you know how diverse people can look yet identify with a certain race/language (or not)?

Have you looked at the genetic marker maps regarding South Asia?

You are welcome to hold that opinion. Let us wait and see what happens.

While such words as 'racially same' may work for small countries like Pakistan..they don't work for absolute giant countries like India.

India has more racial diversity than the entire Europe put together. There is no such thing as an 'Indian race'

A Kashmiri is racially very different from a Bengali who is very different from a Gujarati. A resident of North East India is racially very different from a Marathi.

What matters is that we identify ourselves as regardless of our race - that is Indians.

You are trying to fit your view - bred by living in small countries (Pakistan or UK)..it doesn't work for large nations like ours. Such concepts are difficult for Pakistanis to understand obsessed as they are about races of Central Asians or Arabs or some such owing to Pakistani sense of inferiority vis-a-vis these people.

They actually dont work for Pakistan either.

China is arguably way more homogeneous than Pakistan...and China certainly is not "racially" homogeneous.

Indian is probably the most indigenously racially diverse nation on earth.
My point is that those races are primarily unique to you and within you're own borders. Apart from say to some extent bangladesh or Sri Lanka there are no other nations on earth that have the majority of their population made up by an indigenous india race. In Europe the reverse is true. Although there are many different nations and small cultural variations in Europe, all European nations are made up of one race, the White European race. Most Arab nations are made up the Arabic race. In the case of European and Arabic nations: 1 race, one people, one religion and heritage. In the case of india: many races, many cultures but 1 nation.

Depends which set of Celts you are talking about. The Sicilians, Maltese, Italians, Greeks, Spanish and Portuguese would have looked Nordic had the Arabs, Moors, Persians and Ottoman Turks not invaded or breed with their women over a long period of time.

Tell me what you think of this article then:

| Harvard Magazine

Especially this part:

"At Harvard, a Pakistani-American student whose family had always told her they were originally from an area near the Arabian Sea had this confirmed by her DNA result. “Your family was part of the first migration out of Africa,” noted Wells. “You share that with the Australian aborigines.”

and

In fact, “There is no genetic basis for race,” says Fullwiley, who has studied the ethical, legal, and social implications of the human genome project with sociologist Troy Duster at UC, Berkeley. She sometimes quotes Richard Lewontin, now professor of biology and Agassiz professor of zoology emeritus, who said much the same thing in 1972, when he discovered that of all human genetic variation (which we now know to be just 0.1 percent of all genetic material), 85 percent occurs within geographically distinct groups, while 15 percent or less occurs between them. The issue today, Fullwiley says, is that many scientists are mining that 15 percent in search of human differences by continent.

From a scientific, micro and deep human POV race maybe insignificant and small but from the social, cultural and physical real world POV race matters a lot. If it didn't than the Nazis and KKK would not exist and the mere fact that people feel more comfortable with their own kind than with people of a different race is proof of this. The above also does not explain why certain nationalities and races are so beautiful, attractive and good looking whilst other nations and races are supremely ugly and horrible. It takes a big and strong stomach to look at them.

As a UK born Pakistani I feel the most connection and attachment to other Pakistanis but also other Muslims nations (excluding bengalis and indian Muslims though). I find it easy to relate to these people despite differences in language and slight variations in culture.

I have never felt this with white or indian people.

OK it may be for you. I see every human being as a wonderful creation. All are gods children in his great vast garden.

I guess this is where we parts ways then.

You feel close to Indonesian, Philipino, Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Somalian, Nigerian, Sudanese Muslims?

Been thinking long and hard about the Afghan question. People say 1971 was Pakistan's biggest military defeat but I strongly disagree. 1971 relieved us of a people who had absolutely no connection with us whatsoever and freed us of their burden. In all the wars Pakistan fought with india we always fought an enemy that was 6-9 times bigger than us who had more advanced weaponary than we did. Yet the indians never conquered or ruled over us. Till date their are no indians in Pakistan.

The opposite is true of Afghans. Despite being hostile towards Pakistan there are at least (officially and unofficially) over 15 million Afghans in Pakistan. They are taking all the service jobs and buying up land, property and business all over Pakistan. Everyday they are coming to Pakistan unopposed. I believe that this is unofficial Afghan policy to take over Pakistan by a 5th column. This is an Afghan ploy to drain our resources and take over Pakistan demographically.

This unofficoal Afghan invasion of Pakistan is one war we have lost badly. THIS IS the biggest defeat of Pakistan. We have truely been conquered.

You feel close to Indonesian, Philipino, Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Somalian, Nigerian, Sudanese Muslims?

I do a little bit. I feel apathy for them. And would go out of my way to make them feel welcome and help them any way I could.

^Thats right mate, that has been recent, but we are talking about the historical India and its relation with Afghanistan.

Laughable analysis.
What historical India?
Historically there hasn't been any India. The Brits stole the name from the Greeks who actually didn't go much beyond what is today's Pakistan.
If you want to talk history than you need to talk about Bharat or the Mughal Hindustan. If you are calling Pakistan a British created entity than so is the so called India.
Also if you want to refute somebody's analysis than try and come up with something of your own.

.
Let me ask you, what kind of relationship is that, when you have to take permissions from others to interact with someone else ? Are you that wary ?

I am not talking about taking permission as such I am talking about being sensitive to some of Pakistani concerns.
That is the reason that Ashraf Ghani suspended the shipment of weapons from India.

Afghans living in Pakistan work hard to earn a living, its not a free lunch over there, so get your facts straight.
It is the Pakistani government problem for not being able to tax them properly. Do you think Afghans will have a problem with paying taxes not they dont, if paying taxes giving them a proper residence permit and then a nationality.
How did you get your British passport?? You lived there, paid your taxes and got the passport.

.
And the Americans are so fantastically stupid that they are paying Pakistan so that Pakistan can pay for the insurgency in Afghanistan and kill Americans. Right?

So it's either Americans are the dumbest people on the face of this planet or you are telling porkies.

I am not speculating , just putting mirror in front of you.
again you need some enlightenment
Directly Washington Press words :
America Gives Aid To Pakistan, Pakistan Gives Terrorism To The World

The Double Game - The New Yorker

And as I said if US aid stop to pakistan , Taliban Funding automatically will dry after all You need to eat then you can fund Terror. So, this Afganistan Govt. can at least Face Taliban.
