Indian Railways vs Chinese Railways: the competition is heating up!

We have 5000+ hp engines. We can easily build 7000 to 8000 HP engine now. Actual problem is track. We should improve track put robust traffic management system, reduce the stoppages of fast trains. We can certainly make our trains 20 KM faster on an average which is a big achievement.

I concur, the biggest shift should be made in the quality of travel. HSR will be flop because it cannot compete with airlines, and flights in India are pretty cheap.

Railways should be made efficient for the travel of Indian middle class.

es but we improve trains in phase manner with our own technology, it will not be that costly. We need to take some other steps also. IIT Bombay suggested some aerodynamic shape of engine which would increase the speed by 30 KMPH and save electricity of 3.5 crore per year. This is awesome. We must focus on this types of small steps. Efficiency can be increased.

Isn't having a single driver dangerous? Suppose the train is traveling at 300kmh and he passes out due to some reason like a heart attack!!

I shudder to think of the consequences!! :undecided::blink:

These trains are equipped with a 'dead-man switch', which initiates an emergency stop in the event that the driver is incapacitated.

Overspeed, alarm rings, then automatically slow down to planned speed.
If the driver doesn't respond, the train will stop and automatically inform all trains on the railway to stop.

How did India fall so far behind China? This is all due to Kangress traitors looting the nation for 60 years. India has the brains and the money to achieve anything. With Modi-ji in charge, India has already acquired 'semi-bullet' trains. I have no doubt that India will quickly surpass China to become a bullet train superpower by 2020!

China's bullet trains achieve world's first crossover at 420 km per
Beijing: Two bullet trains in China today gave the world a first of its kind visually stunning sight. Running at world record speeds in opposite directions, the trains crossed each other on parallel tracks.

This achievement in the high-speed rail has added another feat in China's long list.

The two trains - 'Golden Phoenix' and 'Dolphin Blue' - were moving at 420 km per hour when they crossed each other between Zhengzhou in the central Henan Province and Xuzhou in the eastern Jiangsu Province.

The experiment set a world-first for trains travelling at such speed, said Zhou Li, head of the technological management department of China Railway Corporation.

The proud chief said the achievement, using homegrown trains, demonstrated that China has fully mastered the core technology of high-speed trains.

China has built over 16,000 km of high-speed train tracks connecting most of the major cities.

It is now lobbying hard to export its high-speed train technology to India and several other places.

Many of your posts are informative but I would prefer if they weren't full of sarcasm
