Indian national arrested in Lahore, linked to blast

a clear case of imitation by the pakistani media.
the indian media were smart enough to take facts and exploit it enough to cause the world to notice. something totally opposite is being done by the pakistani media. they forgot the facts. the mumbai attack left behind a fu@katon of proof against pakistan and the indian media acted on it to it's fullest. however, the pakistani media has acted on assumption/suspicion. in the end, like always and yet again, pakistani news reports will be ignored at by the international news agencies.

R&AW is far to clever to not send any persons of it's own nationality to pakistan for spying. it's common logic. ISI spies caught in india are actually "indian muslims" working for ISI. same logic in pakistan. if suicide bombers can be rented in pakistan then why cannot spies??? poverty works remarkably.

btw, i don't think R&AW explodes bombs inside pakistan. that would be a childish endeavor and far too risky. as in pakistan has nothing to loose while india has everything to loose. it's main priority would be to break up pakistan and providing liberation armies with tactical and strategic support. if you miss-understand R&AW then your already loosing.

Are you a dunce or you are merely feigning as one. For your information, the spy was caught by law enforcement agencies and reported by media. If you have bothered to read the reports, they have merely narrated what was told to them by the officials unlike morbid, schizoid and unscrupulous indian media. So you want to know who is the copycat here????? i would ask you go through the threads which have discussed the indian originality threadbare already. Indian's talking about originality and Pakistan imitating them is like pot calling the kettle black. Your entire national character is based on the copy of west and here you come to tell us, who is imitating whom.

And you would be the descendant of a colonial taking his time out in india????? if not..... then stop pretending your ignorance of poverty in india. i'm sure dalits and even indian muslims will charge less for doing suicide bombing than anyone from Pakistan today. (this answers you as well, linkin park). How clever RAW is ??????? we know perfectly well. If they are so clever then why are you whining against ISI and Pakistan infront of the whole world????? why they have been unable to stop terrorists attacks in india at the rate of 2-3 per month and most of all mumbai incident despite having clear information????? or is it that they did not want to stop it??? or were they clever enough to plan it and then craft stories to blame it on Pakistan???????

btw, i don't think R&AW explodes bombs inside pakistan. that would be a childish endeavor and far too risky. as in pakistan has nothing to loose while india has everything to loose. it's main priority would be to break up pakistan and providing liberation armies with tactical and strategic support. if you miss-understand R&AW then your already loosing.

Don't put forward arguments which make me doubt your intellect....... RAW doesn't do explosions in Pakistan instead they are sent for charity work and they are doing this "noble" job not only in Pakistan but also in Bangladesh, srilanka and all neighborhood....
Pakistan has nothing to loose.... damn right, dont mess with Pakistan or it may send you to stone age with whatever you hold dear to yourself. Consider it a warning.

Breaking up Pakistan has been RAW agenda for last 60 odd years, nothing new in that. But spare a thought for what ISI has done to India and what it will do to you??? only time will tell as to who equips liberation armies of whom for e.g Naxalites, maoist, tamils, assamese, kashmiris and many more for your surprise........

Mystery behind Pak claims of Indian spy arrest

December 25th, 2008 - 2:01 pm ICT by ANI -

Lahore, Dec 25 (ANI): In the backdrop of the Mumbai terror attacks and growing international pressure on Pakistan to arrest the perpetrators of the carnage, Islamabad has claimed to have arrested an Indian national in connection with yesterdays bomb blast in Lahore, a move however denied by local police officials.
The accused has been identified as Munir alias Satish Anand Shukla, a resident of Kolkata.
Pakistani media reports have claimed that the arrested man had worked with the Indian High Commission in London earlier.
Fake identity cards and other materials were recovered from the man. Authorities have claimed that they intercepted phone calls of Shukla before arresting him.
However, Senior Suprintendent of police (operations) Chaudhary Shafiq Ahmed has denied of any such arrest being made by the police.
I have no information about the man
, he might have been arrested by some other law-enforcement agency, the Dawn quoted Ahmed, as saying.
A woman was killed and four persons were injured when a car bomb went off in a high-security residential complex for government officials in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore on December 24. (ANI)

We should show the world this and then we shall hang these batards!!

I agree..if we really have caught RAW sponsored indian terrorists then we should bring them to the media spotlight, expose their faces and the ACTUAL TRUTH of whose really spreading terrorism. Once confirmed we should instantly HANG the ****** BASTARDS..we as pakistan nation need retribution.

ALl the fitna in the country is RAW, CIA and MOSSAD sponsored and we need to bring the caught culprits in infront of the international media and then sentence them to PUBLIC HANGING.

The Hindu News Update Service

'India not informed of arrest of any Indian over Lahore blast'
Islamabad (PTI): India has not been informed about the reported arrest of an alleged national of the country in connection with a car bomb attack in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, a senior official of its mission here said on Thursday.

"We have not been informed in any manner by the Pakistani authorities about the arrest of any Indian citizen in Lahore. All we have seen are the media reports in this regard," the official of the Indian High Commission told PTI.

TV news channels reported last night that an alleged Indian national had been arrested in connection with the car bomb blast in a government officers' residential complex in Lahore earlier in the day, which killed a woman and injured four persons.

The claim comes amid mounting tensions between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks blamed on the Pakistan-based elements, including the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

While some channels identified the arrested man as Satish Anand Shukla, others gave his name as Satish Anand Sharma. They quoted Pakistani police and intelligence sources as claiming that the man was a resident of Kolkata and had purportedly served in the Indian High Commission in London for over three years.

The Pakistani sources told the TV channels that the man had initially identified himself as Munir. There was also confusion as to whether the man was arrested alone or with others. Geo News channel reported he was arrested with two other persons.

The local TV channels quoting the sources also claimed that three fake Pakistani national identity cards, three letters, explosive materials and "other devices" were recovered from the arrested man.

Geo News quoted intelligence sources as saying that the man was arrested after his phone calls were traced and tapped.

The channels claimed the man reportedly told police that three of his accomplices were also in Pakistan and that they plotting to carry out attacks on Christians on the eve of Christmas in Punjab province.

This is probably the first instance of Pakistani authorities making an arrest in connection with a bomb attack on the day the incident occurred. Pakistan witnessed nearly 70 suicide bomb attacks last year and over 50 this year but there have been no instances of any arrest being made immediately after these incidents.

New group claims responsibility for Lahore blast

New group claims responsibility for Lahore blast

By our correspondent

PESHAWAR: A previously-unknown pro-Taliban group, Ansar Wa Mohajir, has claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s bomb explosion in Lahore and the earlier rocket attacks on Dera Ismail Khan.

Toofan Wazir, identifying himself as a commander and spokesman of the group, phoned The News from somewhere in North Waziristan to claim responsibility for the two attacks. He threatened more attacks against the security forces and the government installations to avenge the two recent US missile strikes in North Waziristan in which several militants belonging to the Punjab were killed.

According to Toofan Wazir, the US drones fired the missiles at Pakistani targets with the agreement and cooperation of the government of Pakistan. He said revenge would be taken from both the Americans and the Pakistan government. In Pakistan, he warned, suicide bombings would be carried out and bombs would be planted and exploded at important government installations.

Toofan Wazir, which doesn’t appear to be his real name, claimed his men were “Ansar” who hosted the “Mohajir” or refugees who had come from different countries and also from places in Pakistan to find refuge in Waziristan. He said the group was committed to protect the foreigners who were the guests of local tribesmen.

However, there was discrepancy in Toofan Wazir’s account and the situation on the ground in Lahore. He claimed it was a suicide bombing, targeting a government installation. But the police in Lahore were saying the explosion took place in a mini-truck carrying explosives. Wazir was also confused about the target of the attack as the explosion took place in a residential area reserved for government officers. Rather it was a housing colony that was attacked and not some important government functionary.

Toofan Wazir’s account of the rocket attacks in Dera Ismail Khan also differed from the situation on the ground. He told ‘The News’ in an earlier phone call that 10 rockets had been fired and the target was the airport in Dera Ismail Khan. However, reports coming from Dera Ismail Khan said only six rockets were fired and that too on a portion of the military garrison and other parts of the city. As a couple of rockets and the launching pad were later found in a sugarcane field and seized by the police, it is possible that the number of rockets readied for the mission was 10.

It isn’t possible to find out if Toofan Wazir’s group, Ansar Wa Muhajir, was indeed involved in the bomb blast in Lahore and the rocket attacks in Dera Ismail Khan. But it appears obvious that he and his men are pro-Taliban and part of the Pakistani Taliban. His group is trying to claim the responsibility of the attacks on its own without detaching itself from the Pakistani Taliban.

New ploy: Pak blames Indians for blast-India-The Times of India

25 Dec 2008, 2357 hrs IST, TNN

NEW DELHI: Even as India persists with its protests against Pakistan's refusal to take action against the perpetrators of 26/11, Islamabad's diversionary tactics have touched a new low.

On Thursday, Pakistan pulled another rabbit out of its hat. That the car bomb blast in Lahore on Wednesday, which left a woman dead and 3 others injured, was triggered by four Indians.

Pakistan media, quoting anonymous sources, identified one of the bombers as one Satish Anand Shukla, allegedly a resident of Kolkata.

The stunt, clearly fabricated to justify inaction against Lashkar leaders by drawing a parity between the jihadis who attacked Mumbai and fictional Indian agents, left Indian officials seething with anger.

Senior Indian officials were quick to rubbish the reports in Pakistan media, saying this had not been conveyed to any Indian agency by Islamabad. The Indian High Commission in Islamabad too denied having received any information from the Pakistanis.

"Nothing has been conveyed officially and we suspect this is yet another ploy to divert attention from the real issue, which is to bring the guilty in Mumbai attacks to justice. We don't believe these reports are true and if they are, we would like Pakistan to inform us officially,'' said a highly placed source, adding that it was mischievous on the part of Pakistan authorities not to have confirmed or denied it.

Aghast at the crude ploy, officials also said that India would not have chosen this moment to trigger off a blast in Pakistan, knowing that the bellicose neighbour would leap upon even a small excuse to justify its refusal to cooperate with the Mumbai probe.

The Lahore drama stripped the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Yusaf Raza Gilani disclaiming hostile intent of any significance. "I assure you that we want excellent relations with India. We want to maintain good relations with India,'' said Gilani, adding that in his assessment there won't be any war".

The assurance would have meant little even in a normal situation, considering that it is neither Gilani nor his political patron Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan president, who call the shots in the country. But coming on a day when Pakistan's antics further vitiated the atmosphere and just a day after the political leadership had competed with the generals and Taliban to resort to vicious India-bashing, this appeared devoid of sincerity.

Even as he professed peaceful intent towards India, Gilani said that his government would not act till India provided evidence about the involvement of Pakistanis in the attacks.

With no Pakistani official willing to confirm or deny, the media there had a field day pointing fingers at India for fomenting trouble in their country in the light of the "arrest of the Indian terrorist". One report where a senior Pakistani police official expressed complete ignorance about the arrest of an Indian was withdrawn later.

Reports claiming that Shukla had been arrested not by the cops, but by intelligence agencies deepened the suspicions about the veracity of the "Indian hand' theory, as it is the local police who can arrest anyone.

Shukla was claimed to have been arrested barely hours after the blast. Three others were arrested later. A couple of pistols, cameras and maps were seized from Shukla and others. All 4 were described as Indian spies who wanted to carry out more attacks on Thursday at the behest of an Indian intelligence agency.

Pakistan in the past too has resorted to such moves to discredit India's demands. The source said that this was similar to Pakistan handing over its own list of fugitives to India after India asked Islamabad to hand over 40 men, including LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and JeM chief Masood Azhar.

According to the reports, Shukla had worked with the Indian High Commission in London for 3 years and had been living in Lahore with the assumed name of Munir Ahmed for the past 18 months. A fake identity card was also said to have been seized from him.

'Arrest of Indians in Pakistan a complete hogwash'

December 26, 2008 23:08 IST
India on Friday dubbed as 'hogwash' the arrest of purported Indian nationals in connection with the Lahore bomb blast and advised its citizens to avoid travel to the neighbouring country.

"It is hogwash and meant to confuse people," Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma told reporters, when asked to comment on reports in the Pakistani media, on the arrest of Indian nationals on allegations of being terrorists.

Sharma also termed as 'unwarranted and a figment of imagination' the talk of India declaring war against Pakistan in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.

"Such talk is aimed to mislead and distract world opinion. Pakistan must act against the perpetrators, conspirators, abettors who have been named and identified as Pakistani citizens," he said.

Stressing that the real issue is terror outfits operating from the territory of Pakistan, Sharma said, "Sincerity of action would have been to dismantle that infrastructure of training and supporting these terrorist outfits."

On non-state actors being responsible for attacks, Sharma said such persons belong to a state and authorities are expected to take action against them.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indians against visiting Pakistan, where some agencies seem to operate outside government control.

"Since it has also been reported in the Pakistani media that the senior police officer in Lahore was unaware of the arrest in his city, it seems that this is the work of other agencies in Pakistan that operate outside the law and civilian control," MEA spokesman Vishnu Prakash said.

Noting that Pakistan has given assurances on combating terror emanating from its soil on 'several occasions', Sharma said "this is not the time for words which are meaningless."

Instead of acting against those organisations which have been named clearly by the United Nations Security Council,
Pakistan is spreading canards about India planning to launch military action against it, Sharma said.

"India is a responsible democracy and we have acted throughout with remarkable restraint and maturity," he said.

The civilian and military leadership in Pakistan has been asserting that they would meet unitedly any challenge mounted by India. The Pakistani Air Force had even sent fighter planes scrambling over some of the major Pakistani cities, prompting the media there to speculate about war being waged by India.

On Thursday, media reports in Pakistan claimed that Indian nationals Satish Anand Shukla, Ram Kumar, Ram Chandar and Prakash were arrested in connection with a bomb blast in Lahore two days ago.

Indians told Pakistan ‘not safe’ for them -DAWN - Top Stories; December 27, 2008

By Our Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Dec 26: India responded to news of the arrest of its citizens in Pakistan with an advice on Friday that the country was not safe for Indians to travel there.

In response to a question about arrest of alleged Indian nationals in Pakistan, a foreign ministry spokesman said: “There have been reports in the Pakistani media that several Indian nationals have been arrested over the last two days in Lahore and Multan, and are being accused of being terrorists.”

Such an advisory, that too based on media reports, is unusual. It added: “Since it has also been reported in the Pakistani media yesterday that the senior police officer in Lahore was unaware of the arrest in his city, it seems that this is the work of other agencies in Pakistan that operate outside the law and civilian control. Indian citizens are therefore advised that it would be unsafe for them to travel or be in Pakistan.”

Damn right, this is a very dangerous time to mess with Pakistan. I hope you guys and your dim wit politicians understand that. :sniper:

It was known all along that GoP is a state sponsor of terror.

But if this "Satish Anand Shukla" story is a fraud then one will have to conclude that they are clinically insane.

By the way, what happened to that alleged "Indian Female Spy"?

This coming from a pipsqueak out of a nation of megalomaniacs is no surprise. Why are you so worried about the femal spy????? was she your colleagur or some near one????. She must be enjoying the hospitality of Pakistani intelligence, if you want to join her, just go across and join the party.

Still no confirmation from Pakistan either of the alleged "Indian female spy" or of this "Shukla" fairy tale.

It looks like both these stories are complete garbage.

It is indeed amazing that those who are running the show in Pakistan thought they could pull off such stunts without exposure.

The only explanation is that their minds are so saturated with fanaticism, and so twisted by hatred, that they have lost the ability to think rationally. Although I suppose they may still be capable of some sort of low reptilian cunning. In any case the diagnosis of clinical insanity appears to be justified.

This story needs to be archived and remembered as a good case study in insanity caused by fanaticism.

If you are here to extract some news about their well being then you are at a wrong place. I can only speculate that they must be enjoying Pakistani hospitality reserved only for hindustanis. My offer still stands, if you have guts then instead of sitting safely behind your computer, go across and join the party to see how they are doing.

The reptilian and chameleon characteristics are more commonly associated with the squalid indian society and their ghettos. If you are indeed muslim (as you pretend by your name) then i guess living in those slums has deeply skewed your ability to see reality and in an effort to kow tow those gutters, you are here to disparage Pakistan. Well, one cant expect any better from pusillanimous and obtruse Charlatans.
This forum is a good place to get a feeler about the twisted hindu hate and war mongerers and their diabolical self. It is infact hindustan's travesty after mumbai which is a laughing stock for the world today. It is hindustan which is eating its own words today and shifting from bellicosity to rants and whines as its canard stands exposed infront of everyone today and you my friend are no different.

This story needs to be archived and remembered as a good case study in insanity caused by fanaticism.

Its true in case of hindustan's response in the wake of mumbai, as it will serve as a case study for the posterity to see how twisted minds can cloud the judgement of whole nation and also as a case study for how the nation states defend themselves from the hagemonic designs of mad/fanatic and hostile larger neighbors.
