Pakistan has every right to defend its sovereignty. But hitting the heli with a misslie sounds a bit extreme, as per newspaper reports they strayed into pakistan due to bad weather

They shot down our "unarmed" naval patrol air craft killing 16 of our fine Naval servicemen , for Pakistan not to shoot down this heli is just a gesture of our high moral values and good will to the Indian people.

True. They could have been in a recon mission or whatever. But IMO threatenin to launch missile at them seems quite drastic to me.

Pakistan artillery helipad (with number 90), on which the Cheetah landed in the Marol area just across the LoC in Kargil sector was not known to the Indian Army. The Pakistan army allowed the chopper to return to Kargil after refuelling the machine and giving directions to pilots.

Hi,

After reading comments from indians in their own newspapers---they are very interesting---quite a few of you want the blood of your own pilot----dudes chill out----mistakes happen you know----there is a reason for what happened.

This incidence will bring down the temperature between the two millitaries notch lower---even though the public may want blood---.

There is nothing like a gesture of goodwill between two fighting soldiers----. Today the armies of both the sides will be thinking a little bit different about each other---regardless of how much blood the civilians want both the sides to let---the soldiers will find more reasons for peace.
