Indian Army chopper force-landed in P O K; let to fly later


The Indian Army Aviation helicopter with it a crew of four returned to Kargil, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening after it strayed and landed in Pakistan. occupied. Kashmir in the afternoon.

The Cheetah helicopter on a routine maintenance mission lifted off from Leh this afternoon to Bhimbat in Drass sector but lost its way due to inclement weather and landed in the Skardu area adjoining Kargil in P O K. The crew included two Majors, who were piloting the helicopter, one Lieutenant Colonel from Engineering side and one Naik-Subedar.

The Director General of Military Operations got in touch with his Pakistan counterpart on the issue as with Military-Diplomatic efforts the helicopter and the crew returned to India and landed at Kargil, Army sources said.
