Combat choppers? Even if we used it...it only downed 1? What was it a drone?

There's usually a 20mm cannon on AH-1 or 12.7mm HMG on side door of a transport chopper. Spraying cannon fire doesn't mean dozens could get killed in one burst neither its a sniper gun ensuring death by hit to the head.

Probably a chopper was flying nearby when firing took place and Indian positions got hit, although the fire could be from mortar, LMG, artillery or ATGM.

I dont think a Gunship was used.

You can get ranges of when fired from an altitude:
1. M-197 cannn (20 mm)
2. 12.7mm
3. M-134 Mini gun 7.62 mm

Just a normal loc exchange nothing more. Some Pakistani heli flew in to supply weapons or troops and Indian army exaggerated the news.

We never use these things over LOC....period

As everyone is surprised to read about Indian claim on use of Gunship by Pakistan Army, don't forget that now a days Sputnik and RT are in full coordination with Indian line. Also, India will claim everything against Pakistan in these days to earn some victim points and will try to restore it's face before international community due to aggressive maneuvers followed by humiliation.

If 1965 and 1971 wars are studied, IA along with BSF, captured many border posts from Rangers in north of Punjab and south of Sindh as well as in Kutch area. The superiority that was enjoyed by BSF in the past is nullified now. For any future war, BSF knows that Rangers have been armed to the teeth, battle tested and have full support of PA Regular Infantry and SF elements now.

This is another reason why Regular Infantry of both Military's are getting shot at and giving their lives, many posts on LOC are being manned by Regulars.

Havildar Abdur Rab, who was martyred in cross-LoC firing on Saturday seemed to be from Air Defense Corps, one would think why a Air Defense Havaldar was deployed on LOC. One possibility is admin duty in an Operational Infantry Brigade HQ, but then HQ's are not located directly on LOC.

I didnt see the pic clearly of Havildar Abdur Rab, but the funeral pic looks like troops from Air Defense regiment, if its true, then can you think what an Air Defense Corps Havaldar is doing on LOC?

just because the honorary guard is from AD does not mean that Shaheed Havilder is from AD.
it all depends on the availability of the troops closest to event and they can be from any arm

If its a road accident, death in hospital due to illness or death due minor incident, then yes Sta HQ could provide such facilities.

"Shaheed" is an honor for the Regiment ! CO or other officer of the Regiment goes and meets shaheed's family and congratulates them for their son has attained martyrdom. An officer or Regimental JCO is tasked with providing further assistance to widow or parents instantly. Burying a Shaheed is not a sideshow for the Regiment.

Doesnt happen like officers from the shaheed's unit will go to meet shaheed's family but burial will be performed by troops of another regiment.
