As regards the objective of the exercise, they said it will enable the Army to validate its war fighting concepts while working towards a ‘capability based approach’ relying on a series of transformational initiatives, concepts, organisational structures and absorption of new age technology.

The Joint Service doctrine was formulated a decade back in the wake of fast changing ways of fighting wars all over the world. The main thrust of this doctrine is to achieve the military and political objectives in the shortest possible time by crippling the war waging capabilities of the enemy through land, aerial and sea-based attacks.

In fact, the Army and the Navy are also enhancing their capabilities to launch amphibious operations and recently conducted exercises in Andaman and Nicobar Islands to test the doctrine in amphibious operations.

Moreover, the Navy has acquired two amphibious ships and plans to acquire two more such platforms which can carry more than 3,000 Army troops, helicopters, tanks and infantry combat vehicles very close to the beach for assault.

Besides this, all three services have gone in for rapid upgrading of their capacity to fight in a network-centric environment,
officials said. Giving an example they said all the warships are now connected and their movement is tracked by an officer sitting in front of a computer console in Delhi. This network enables him to conduct a war faster as instructions are relayed within seconds.

- The Army will be conducting an exercise in Rajasthan from March to May 2012.

- The Western and South Western Commands of the Indian Air Force are also likely to deploy their Frontline aircraft including the Su-30MKI, Mirage 2000, Jaguars and the AWACs for the wargame.

- "The joint synergy will be enhanced by the active participation of the IAF with the air assets of the Army and the Air Force being employed in an integrated manner," Dahiya said.

"Battlefield transparency and operational plans based on real-time situational awareness will be enhanced using intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) inputs from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, radars and satellites," he added.

Practice makes a man perfect

It will:

- Help in reducing the time taken into the attack.

- Iron out loop holes.

- It will help into better synergy between Indian Army and IAF.

- It will enhance the capabilities of network centric warfare.

- The yearly movement of large scale movement of troops and supplies will help in the real war.

- The exercise will make our forces more swift, advance and lethal.

. . . .
We need practice at mountain areas like Himalaya or like Arunachal border.

In war there shall be use of anti tank missiles etc. So need more cautions.

We need Phlanx 1B block CIWS like machine and advance Nimrod like long range anti tank or converted Radiation missile.

Also need advance gun with raddar to distroy anti raddar antiradiation missile.

. .
It is required to understand that in future the heavy attack shall be made by the enemy. They shall fire lots off rockets Raad like cruz missiles and top shells. The heavy shells fire of top can distroy many things on battle field. For distroy those missiles shells rockets mortars Phlanx Block B like gattling gun on truck can make Best defence it ckuld be chepest defence too. what is say? Bros.

The sustained focus on the interoperability of the forces is a very positive development. Network centric warfare demands that there is seamless operability within the different arms and all these exercises show that the Indian Defence forces are aware of the need to generate synergy within the different arms to achieve the objectives in the shortest and most bloodless possible ways. Instead of supply chain pushing the forces, it is more like the forces pulling the supply chain. Speed lends surprise and hence the edge.

. .
its more inter services exercises that are the need of the day . for almost 50 yrs the air force and navy operated individually . there was no mention of "combined arms " in the war doctrine of the armed services. its only after the second Iraq war did the armed forces seriously get their act together and try out combines ops. .

There is absolutely no point in spending billions of dollars buying and producing better weapons if we are not proficient in using them. The man with a bow and arrow can still beat the man with a gun if he is far more proficient.
Do we not need to train our pilots even after buying excellent planes for them to use? We need to spend a lot of money training everyone to work together with all these new technologies that we are acquiring so that we find out exactly how good they are and exactly ho we can use them for maximum benifit. We have a HUGE army. Training 20,000 at a time might sound like a huge deal but we need them more often to even scratch the surface. It takes more than big guns to become a military power.

Hope to see Some Mi-25 and Mi - 17 's Along with Transport Crafts.
Yeah and They Must Involve AWACS platform too.

Guys post Image if you can...

Why are all these exercises always carried out along pak border which poses little threat , they should be done along the china border in arunachal and north eastern states. We got our priorities wrong

.
Army and Air force should be on the same page air force needs to make sure its frontline strike aircraft can work with impunity in time of conflict so proper air interdiction and air support is provided to the soldiers advancing on the front.

on a side note the navy practices its exercises in a heavy EW environment anybody know if this exercise has the same? i have yet to see the Samayukta EW system in use by the military.

That's why PAF was actively deploying newly developed passive RADAR frequency readers near the borders.:yahoo:
