i hate the stupid paint job on the mki's.

whats the matter,we can't even do that properly?

The Rafales look so freaking small next to the Flankers, but what a nice view!
Wow, that is quite something. You know the Flanker is big but damn! Now wonder the amount of internal fuel it can carry is so much!

+ @sancho on that subject, do the IAF have drop tanks for their MKIs? The MKI is the only a/c in IAF service I have never seen with drop tanks fitted, I know they have buddy-buddy refueling pods but what about external fuel tanks?

We can, the IAF had some of the most amazing paint jobs on its planes after WW2.

No they haven't, the Su 30s carry fuel internally only. The latest Su 34s have added a centerline fuel tank to increase range of operations in long range or heavy strike roles. The Su 35 should get this capability in theory too, but they also got an increased internal fuel capacity, which makes that practically not needed.

There is a thing called aerodynamic related wear. When you have active service aircrafts taking part in exercises, you have machines which look 'tired' and worn out. Google some pix of the best airforce in the world and see their active duty aircrafts and then pass judgement on paint-jobs. See how F-14s of a bygone era had every hinge, every rivet look like it was smeared in oil and grime. See how the Iraq war British Tornadoes looked like in the heat and dust (and not to mention the heavy exhaust ) of sorties.

There is nothing wrong with the Indian AF a/c paintjobs just because they are Indian.

Agreed, @he-man bro, the look of the MKIs just goes to show they are well used and this is a good thing! It means the IAF is putting a lot of hours on these birds and producing some of the finest fighter jocks in the world. What would worry me was if the MKIs always looked like they were straight off the production line- this would point to something VERY worrying i.e. the IAF weren't using these birds often and this could be because the MKIs were too expensive to fly, too inherently dangerous or the pilots weren't able to handle them safely. @Dandpatta is right- look up any active SQD in a Western AF, you'll see some tired looking birds but that doesn't reflect badly on the a/c or AF does it?
