Still a lesser sin than not accepting soldier's sacrifice and labeling them non-state actors.

seems like you are referring to Kargil , but lets go a bit further back , Still better than supporting Terrorists and interfering in country's internal Affairs ..

Still better than being radicalized by ppl sitting inside lal mosque.

If you are comparing Lal Masjid Terrorists with your Soldiers than i guess you are devaluing your own Soldiers which i think is disrespectful , I don't Like Indian Army but at least i wont compare them with TTP or ISIS

All's fair in love and war.

.
your so called great assets are on run and your great brothers always in mourning on our western border.
naxals are good people. khalistan may become a reality again. Kashmir may see Punjabi Taliban and surrendered ttp people fighting India.

about loc. 4500+ killed by us in a decade shows how much beating you have been taking.

it surely had increased and your government will surprise you very soon with more big figures.

whereas our brave men killed are not treated as numbers but are given state honour and their memories, actions become part of ISPR shuhada corner. I know hundreds of soldiers personally who died fighting on different fronts and all of their details are on ISPR shuhada corner with each unit painting their pictures on the walls of their headquarters.

but Indian soldiers becomes mere numbers which shock every Indian, but never question army over such treatment with the deads who died fighting for the country.

note: don't answer with irrelevant topc and about kargil, we air lifted bodies from new dehli and awarded one of them with nishan e haider

but Indian media says officers sell it to civilians keeping jawans well under fed.
Indian chief Manekshaw made it amply clear: victory = life; defeat = death!!!!!!

I fail to understand all this high-end statecraft and realpolitik, assuming the Indian government has a definite plan.

Each day they say something else. We will do this, we will do that. Ten Pak soldiers got killed, oops wait, they didn't!

Surely all this is part of some grand plan and not just our government making a fool of itself and the military? Can any knowledgeable member please enlighten me as to what is going on?

Dear indian,

You had a plan and it was set in motion with the blessing of your patron saint- read: not local South Asian deity.

Quite grand in its scale and depth of its scope. It almost worked.

A combination of good luck and Pak State finally getting its act together made the grand plan impotent.

Your new PM did inheret this plan in action but instead of harvesting with patience your new establishment went in overdrive to achieve a certain deadline before a certain date in time.

The said plan would have worked...but as I said...goodluck played its role.
Good luck hier is meant as Speculative Agency, not Operative. Would leave it to your rich imagination...

This thing called Panama leaks, Gen. RS and his team, Pak Peoples Coherence... the rest is now history, really.

At the moment your government and strategic community are trying to find a compelling narrative...to build a new Grand Plan. They have to capitalise internal gains on external actions. All politics is local, as you know already.

However, now the equations are changing faster and Pak is not really Alone. Pak has Friends who, again Goodluck, need Pak more than ever. Some kind of lost love found again. Meta-Material Design? Or just circle completing itself is difficult to determine.

At the moment Kashmir is on the boil and by the looks of things will remain hot. NE is heating up and you are looking at Summer of Discontent there as well. Perhaps a bit more...

What has happened is that your PM and his team somehow miscalculated the global dynamics and went for breakout strategy i.e. breaking the chains of South Asian confinement... in the process they have stepped on rather large claws..

I hope it helps the enigma to be less opaque.

Regards,

SPF

PS. War is Stupid. Only Stupids want war.

We- you, others and I, - must do our best to discourage people from such dark fantasies. Goodhearted humour is allowed every now and then... but people should realise WAR means The End for everyone.

I guess those Brave ones here on PDF have never seen the Real Action..hence super machoismo and pathetic warmongering.

Well, honestly, I quite like the status quo. Although geo-politics seems to always leave me behind and I am forever playing catch up.

Yes, machismo on PDF. In the 50s American homes had bunkers and there were nuclear fallout shelters everywhere. They seemed to think in terms of a "winnable" nuclear exchange with the Evil Soviets. I don't know precisely when reality started setting in - it could be when they tested the Tsar Bomba. Even as late as 1980 the UK government issued a Protect and Survive leaflet about how to survive nuclear fallout.

I have friends who believe that Pakistan's nukes won't reach Delhi because they (my friends) have discovered some fatal flaw in Pakistan's delivery systems. There are Pakistani and Indian members here who measure the range of missiles as if a few cities out of range makes all the difference. The line between a clever argument and insanity is pretty thin, and on PDF, it is thinner still.

Ideally, we should be able to come out of zero sum games and focus on mutual growth and development on the fulcrum of science, under the shade of peace. But there seems to be a consensus on PDF that it is the moral obligation of Nations to hurt the interests of others. Everyone is a rival - overt or in secret. Nations apparently exist to increase their own power at the expense of others. So we cannot defeat the consensus.

The best case scenario I can think of is channeling the discussion along a baseline - that all is fine but not war. In fact someone should start a thread on that - how to inflict maximum pain and suffering on your geo-strategic rivals without actually coming to blows. Since that is the prevailing mindset here, it may well be PDF's lasting contribution to international affairs.

Ah, my dear friend,

PDF is rather unique, as it is a window which provides access to Sight what lies behind... the Sixth Degree not even needed...

Subliminal calculus is enough...provided their is a Mind capable of Thought.

Human Condition is not advanced enough to think about eradication of armed, organised violence.

But a war between Pak and your india will be destructive beyond comprehension...even conventional one.... you do your numbers and find validation of level of destruction...

Regarding, non-armed war...well where have you been, my dear?

What have you been seeing for the last 70 years happening everywhere is not war? One kills the body and the other...

Think about a Large Blue Elephant for 3 minutes... and then see...

Good then. Let us propose a peaceful, democratic settlement of Kashmir.

After that let there be a total separation between Pak and your country...i.e. no trade, no diplomatic or cultural contact.. after two or three decades when the traumas of the past have healed a bit.... a gradual opening towards each other...

Why this medicine?

I would expect you to come up the business case for such a Therapy. ROI must be clear in terms more than those LSE pet talks... kindly, dazzle me. Nothing less is acceptable.

Sweet tooth?

Still better than being radicalized by ppl sitting inside lal mosque.

Now, now, lets not forget Yogi Adityanath, now CM of UP, one of the biggest state in India, advocating raping corpses of Muslim women.

On topic:

I like the way Indian army has decided to put enemy state on high alert. Psy ops at play?

Hanuman army, playing Psy ops - that'll be the day!

Indian troops were like Hanuman - Manohar Parrikar

Though this is off topic, it's important that I help you out of the confirmation bias you hold against UP CM.
How journalists and politicians joined hands to spread a lie against the UP CM

Hanuman is a Hindu deity who helped Lord Rama win a war against the mighty king,Ravana, and achieved the impossible.
I don't mind Indian army being called a Hanuman army for it means we do not support injustice and that we have it in us to put up a fight against the mightiest army in the world, which definitely doesn't belong to our western side.
It is the Psy ops at play which has made our enemy so desperate.

I hope we bump into each other on a more sensible thread than this or let's say meaningful.
I just had to get your opinion on a couple of things before my attention span snooze away.

1) India plans to gradually move away from cold start doctrine to first strike deterrence. That basically in war terminology means going back to defensive mode. My question is purely psychological in nature. Don't you think Pakistan has an edge considering Indians consider us suicidal to begin with?

2) nuclear war is not an option at this moment in time while we have trigger friendly statesmen all over the world these days. Theoretically Multan and larkana are your best shots for n strike but geologically you will face the brunt of nuclear winter not us. Pakistan on 2nd strike will not choose Delhi or Mumbai for strategical reasons. Chennai, Bangalore and Calcutta will be preferred.

It was nice talking to you. I will read your reply and acknowledge it with thanks to make you aware of it.
