If they do not do a second mid life refit on the last three Kilos that do not have it, by around 2028 PN will have parity or near parity with India on conventional Subs. 3 A90Bs + 8 Hangor V 6 Scorpenes + 4 Type 209s+ 3 Kilos. Whats more none of these have AIP, and the Type 209s are now almost 40 years old. 7 of India's subs will be amongst the oldest in service anywhere in the world.

My prediction is that they will be sold to Myanmar.

I can see them buying a lot more of the new french variants off the shelf - India is massively focussing on her naval power ( P8s, new ASW helicopters etc).

There is a second Indian conventional submarine project guys called Project 75 Alpha, which is the Indian Navy's domestic designed/built submarine force, six in total.

Yes, but not even been sanctioned yet, so we will not see first of these till after 2030. Until then PN may well gain near parity, and of course after Hangor class it will be looking at MILDEM class.

Plans for Indian Navy as per meeting in April 2021

Indian Navy might consider procuring more Kalvari and Super Kalvari class submarines – Indian Defence Research Wing (idrw.org)

3 More larger Nuclear powered submraines to follow the 4 Arihant Class scheduled .
Currently india has inducted INS Arihant and Arighat ids in sea Trials until 2022
Navy will have only the 4 Arihant class subs in 2028

6 project 75i subs project to be scrapped
But India to order 3 more Scorpene subs from France
This probably means india deploying 9 scorpene by 2028

7 Kilos in service...... (4 had upgrade programme already . )
Rumours are other 3 to be upgraded next 3 years

Finally 4 German Subs type 209

I think India will end having 20 conventional subs by 2028
4 nuclear powered Arihant subs
I dont see the 3 new generation nuclear subs arriving until 2030+

There is also a Akula class submrine

I think the weakness in all of this are the words "might" and "plans". India "planned" 126 Rafales and a third carrier. Means nothing. Now thanks to massive 2nd wave of Covid 2021 will be major economic hit for India.

Indonesia just lost one Type 209 sub similar in age and spec to India's Type 209s. So good luck.

China is still operating Romeo copies while India is already retiring her Kilo subs. This is a strong indication that India is ahead of China in submarine technology.

No. Myanmar will but new submarine from Russia. Either Kilo class or Amur class.

Indian kilo which Myanmar purchased is for training purposes primarily and along with that it's secondary task is to patrol and ensure maritime security of Myanmar...... Kilo armed with Klub cruise missile can easily guarantee that against Bangladesh or Thailand.....

This all will train Myanmar crew perfectly till the time they receive their much better equipped and armed brand new Kilos or Amurs from Russia ..... Smart move by Myanmar.....

Nice efforts..... First you make statement on Turkish forum asking Turkey to join AMCA project and here now you are saying India ahead of china in submarine technology..... Nice efforts to invite trolling against India.... Keep it up....
