What's new

India to launch its first astronauts into space by 2015

good luck. But i dont see the sense in developing obsolete capsule technology.

How the Guardian printing such a illogical news?

Already ISRO pushed the date to 2021.

UK media has been undermining India and trying to establish a point that they are superior. The pre-colonial mindset has not changed for them.

Explain me whats the great achievement to copy a 50 year old soyuz?

Indian Capsule is not a copy of Soyuz.

isro capsule seems too cramped to be soyuz... and below spacex dragon v2... seven seats, and quite simplified and elegant, though could have done with some wall carpeting...

isro is certainly not the creative and innovative spacex.

You are too pessimistic........YES SpaceX is better so what ?
It isn't gonna change instantly. India has its hands full.
You got to give credit to ISRO , it is doing a good job,..........they have to improve and they will with time.
They are a PSU which generates profit and save government's money.
They are inspiring our new generation, you got to give atleast some credit to them.

specially overrated BBC Wait not BIG BLACK CO*K but the channel ;)

let them cry. British people are sore losers of 21_ century. imagine :
a country with 3/5 million poor people launched a manned space mission SUCCESSFULLY & INDEPENDENTLY !

You are too pessimistic

no, i am just being real. :)

YES SpaceX is better so what ?

isro must study why spacex, established 2002, is the most successful private space agency, with three luggage delivery trips already to the "international space station" and radical design of rockets and human mission possible by end of 2017.

as long as isro is not staffed by creative and radical college dropouts, they will remain an agency which uses designs or technologies that others have discarded or rejected.

They are a PSU which generates profit and save government's money.

come on... isro has been basically a satellite maker... there are private companies like "surrey satellite" that do that... only difference is that isro sometimes launches its products by itself.

They are inspiring our new generation, you got to give atleast some credit to them.

sorry to say but isro is inspiring only the hyper-patriotic triple-college-degree indian graduate types... those are hardly the most innovative people.

let isro start on innovation by designing a microprocessor and operating system. :)

How about team INDUS .

How about team INDUS .

i support them, because they are generally doing something like this at start-up level though i read that some big company ( tata?? ) will be supplying them the communication system.

and i must say they must be more creative on the design of their vehicle... it looks straight off the vid created by the organizers committee from 2008.
