India’s Quiet Counter-China Strategy

I think China uses its farmland more efficiently than India.

Read those links.

I did not write them.

It is of serious concern, not only to China but to all including India.

We must be careful in our quest for modernisation and must balance modernisation with social requirements.

Our food situation is not very good since our Public Distribution System is bogus and politically oriented.

We are also looking for lands abroad for buying or leasing!

Not only our farming methods stupid, our Govt's policy on Agriculture is stupid. The damned Minister is more concerned with cricket!

Read those links.

I did not write them.

I didn't write BBC links regarding malnutrition/starvation in India either. I won't post the article, out of regard for some of the half-decent Indian members here.

But what does it have to do with the topic? "India’s Quiet Counter-China Strategy"?

If India wants to counter us in this regard, well you have a long way to go.

I agree it has nothing to do with it.

But it has veered as is usual with threads.

Once again a wise saying from China that would tell you why it has happened

for water in its natural course runs away from high places and hastens downwards... Water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows;

Sun Tzu

I think you will grant that he is a wise man and not an Indian, a people you feel are not quite intelligent as you!

I am not patronising.

Let me give you an example of the beautiful phrases the Chinese use instead of the crude stuff most use.

I learnt of its beauty not from a Chinese, but an American = Pearl S Buck and her book Good Earth!

Instead of using crude words like Pregnant, the Chinese use - she is filled with Happiness Inside.

Is that not beautiful and so apt, Are we not all happy if someone little is coming into our lives!

As far as racist theories, I will humbly mention, I did not invent them. The Chinese did. Why be afraid or shy of the truth?

No, we use pregnant. 怀孕. this is why i say Western scholarship on China is stupid and racist. we use technical words all the time. In fact, unlike Japan which directly uses English words for technical concepts like laser, electronics, computer, etc. China has a complete Chinese vocabulary for all modern technology that has nothing to do with the West. the west loves to portray us as backwards primitives though despite the fact that we don't even use thier loanwords.

The total number of China's desertification has been decreasing year after year.
If you are interested in China's desertification control, I suggest you look at this:

Lol if you are talking about 30 years ago, it's true.
Nowadays we just say pregnant.

The best way to learn about chinese is actually to just mingle with some.

You can't expect to learn about the victorian era and apply to modern day english people etc etc.

Frankly, I never got this feeling from reading any mainstream Western sources.

They may stress the China threat, pollution, human rights, democracy, openness (or the lack of it) and intellectual property rights issues when talking of China but never seem to doubt the highly evolved and ancient civilization that China is.

Actually when guys want to make someone pregnant, we still go by saying "I want to give you happiness". They usually get the idea and respond by going rosey red :azn:

.
I will tell you guys something, blunt, but it has to be said. The day China stops propping up Pakistan against India, India-China relationship will improve. As simple as that really:undecided:

pakistan can say the same about india and pak-afghan relationship.......

There is always a difference between the colloquial, spoken language, and the more literary expressions - among all languages with any self-respecting "literary traditions".

"有 (with/possessing) 喜 (happiness/luck/fortune)" is most definitely still used in a more formal, literary sense. When you put the two characters together, even darn google translate knows it means "being pregnant" ...

So whoever mentioned it may be "behind times", but not exactly out-to-lunch.

On a separate note, slowly even I have been cluing into the indisputable fact that the Japanese "Kanji" has had an outsized impact on the modern Chinese technical vocabulary ...

" ... 现在我们常用的一些基本术語、词汇,大都是此时自日本舶來。如服务、组织、纪律、政治、革命、政府、政党、方针、政策、申请、解決、理论、哲学、原則等等,实际上全是来自日语的“外來语”,还有像经济、科学、商业、干部、健康、社会主义、资本主义、法律、封建、共和、美学、文学、美术、抽象……数不胜数,全是來自日语 ... "

Again, a little perspective goes a long way.

Now that's just euphemistic speak. I'm sure the guys also get happiness.

I already answered that above.

At most, it may cause an increase in food prices if the government is unable to stop the unsuitable farming practices that are causing it in the first place.

Let's not get into an argument regarding "starvation" because both sides have a lot of flames for this issue. The fact is that India is doing far worse than us in this regard.

Have you read the two links I gave?

I would appreciate if you could debunk the article and give some facts that indicates that the links are not correct.

I think then it would be more authentic than a general statement which technically has no value, except being your opinion.

At least you're no longer talking about your ridiculous racial theories of Han Chinese.

Once again I would state that the ridiculous racial theories of Han Chinese is not my imagination. It is the theories of the Hans.

I could give more details, but suffice it to say for the moment, that is not not surprising that 97% of the Chinese are Hans? What happened to the rest?
