India: Parents dip their kids in cow dung for a 'healthy and lucky life'

. . . .
Really incredible India....rising and shining supa puwaaa

It's just their culture to dip their kids in cow dung. It does mean that they are bad people. Could any Indian share with us the significance of dipping their kids in the cow dung? Does it makes the kids smarter, bring them good fortune or wealth, ward off diseases, etc?

I think it is 2015 other than being disgusting, it is extremely unhygienic and a there are always a lot of pathogens and that it is really called shit because it is shit actually megashit :partay:. I really don't know how people can believe in such superstitious things.Poor children...I really feel for them and hope they don't turn even 1% like their idiot parents.

but ofcourse no one will encourage to take dip in shit or shower. The video shows a ritual once in a while. Well may be earlier version of getting vaccinated. But most of the ppl hardly know the reason( just like management) why they follow certain rituals or practices. Some of them may be outdated or totally irrelevant in modern world.

. .
I wonder how many of the Indian members here on PDF have indulged in this practice?
customs or rituals are peculiar and specific to that area. Its not these rituals are followed only by hindus alone, they will also be followed by ppl other religions too. As for your question , this is the first time i have come to know about this practice.

That is relieving to know that it is not a nationwide ritual.
