In an interview to a group of editors, also on Sunday, Mr. Mukherjee said India would write off $200 million of the $1-billion loan given to Bangladesh for various projects. “India will treat the amount as grant, not credit. “This $200 million will be utilised for projects that Bangladesh prioritises.”

Where is the money? we do not see any indian money in BD. Better India feeds its hungry millions instead of making a political donation to its crony AL.

Instead of this kind of badwill gestures, India should compensate BD with at least $20 billion for stealing our water for the last 40 years through Farakka, Teesta and many other dams it has surrounded BD with. We will not come to our knees however India tries to do.

It is laughable to note while BD has not received a single dime out of that $1 billion credit, now, Pranab is coming up with this $200 million crap as if he only understands math.

Indians are master of lying and deception. Instead of making lots of hue and cry let's get back to the bottom line.

For this transit India and Awami league has staged so much drama from turning Bangladesh to Singapore, to earning couple of billions of dollar. Finally though it was stated of 1 billion dollar profit ... But later they said everything is uncertain. In the mean time it has been revealed that India is asking for free transit though in reality it is a corridor.

Now both awami league and India both sensed the negative intention of the people. In the mean time public also come to know that under what sort of one sided condition this one sided loan deal has been signed. Even pro awami government had to cancel one fourth of the deal projects for the terms of the loan deal.

So to counter these sentiments Pranab has come up with these drama of 200 million grant when Bangladesh had write off around 250 million usd worth of project. With this small amount of show off aid they will try to boost that India is giving aid to Bangladesh when India will be benefited by billions and billions of dollar directly and indirectly.

It is clear now Bangladesh is not going to earn much from it by giving a almost free transit. On the other hand apart from saving both time and money by the truck drivers, this transit will help India massively specially due to the development of NE India. In one article I read that India will save 5-6 billion usd in military spending due to the development of NE India alone per year. There are many other indirect benefit for India. On the other hand this transit means for Bangladesh loosing of market share in NE India, terrorism threat, environmental threat and making china upset.

Considering all these if India really wants transit and considering it's long term benefit if India spend all the money required to build infrastructure for this transit worth at least 7 billion dollar, people of Bangladesh will feel at least Bangladesh is getting something. Though 7 billion is too small then expectation. Awami league government is too soft and shy enough on India to say it. There is example how India had to spent on the port in Myanmar to get access of it despite Myanmar government did not permit India to control it. There is also example of china to spent money on ports in Sri Lanka and Pakistan that they will use. Even Bangladesh will spend it's own money to build roads to get connected to china through Myanmar.

I think this will be a win win situation for all though the money will be too smaller then expectation for Bangladesh.
