I came across this ... that is quite a jump in the last 5 years. Btw I am not a UPA or any Indian political party guy- honestly I know very little about your parties - but I have started to pay more attention during your election year :P. Just something I came across

.
But still 6 hour loadsheddings in India...

I don't know how old is that but currently India is 3rd in both electricity production and consumption after China and USA. India has overtaken almost every other nation.

But still 6 hour loadsheddings in India...

Not really, most 1st and 2nd tier cities of India have almost no power cuts and most industries in India are getting 24/7 electricity. Its the 3rd tier and villages where electricity supply is cut down when there is a shortage.

In 2010, India was the 5th largest power producer after China, Usa, Russia and japan. After that Japan has shut down almost all of its nuclear power plants and India has added a huge number of new coal fired plants taking the total production to over 211,000MW. Russia has not built many plants either, so in 2013 it is safe to assume India is sitting at no 3 spot.

Apart from that India has 20000 MW of power plants that have built and readied but are lying idle because there is no coal to run them. Investments have been made but no production has started yet.

Post reported.
Either respond to me maturely or dont.

Thanks @karan21

Btw yor atitude reminds me of a saying that

"I can insult myself, but if you do..."

I have heard from Indians there are powercuts everyday even in big cities.
Plus 60% of Indians live in rural areas.

You try to sound like you are not an Indian. But the fact is that you are just as much as an Indian as any Indian in here. And all your posts are what an Indian would post, not what an American would post.

So all your knowledge is based on word of mouth from random people. Btw where did you meet any Indian. Have you been out of Pakistan ever?? Don't lie. Yes there are power cuts but situation is getting better every second and we Indians can say that unlike Pakistan.

. .
There is no power cuts in Delhi and Mumbai I can tell cuz I have lived there. Delhi used to have power cuts till 1999 after that there would be interruptions for like 15-30 minutes at most during a day and after like 2005 none so ever except for grid failures :P Where as some villages in Bihar they dont get any electricity for 2 weeks altogether.

Electricity consumption is the best indicator of economy is prosperous or not. So, no power cut maybe a bad sign to some extent. My above conclusion should be based on a fact that a sound and complete electricity supply system are available to all urban and rural areas. In China, this summer, only coastal provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong have some power cut.
