Does countering sounds like being an enemy huh?? Countering can be in many ways. Even China is countering many of India's interest. So actions speaks a 10000 times louder than words. Irrespective of what, India will care more about our interests than Chinese sensitivities. Period.

China has already declared that they are the enemy by forming a formal alliance with India's enemy(s). When China can do that why do they expect India not to do the same ??

China helped Pakistan to defend itself. So far China has not taken any aggressive strategy to India yet. China didn't depoly massive army along India border. Didn't sponsor and arm India's separatists. There are many choices that China can make to weak India.
