India may ask china to suggest the way of reducing trade deficit.

We need to reduce our dependence on China otherwise we will see trade deficit ballooning exponentially.
They don't buy our finished products and realistically we don't have the wherewithal to compete on most items. On top of that we send thousands of our students to study in their universities.

Those who cannot get admission here goes there to become doctors who will have no value in India. Yes, china has restricted all our products by one way or other. Even they have made our Basmati rice import very complicated so that it may not be imported. So we need a counter strategy which includes loads of measures including anti-dumping duty and various certifications. We are strng here as we are importing more. We must strengthen our import laws to make import goods less attractive. This will boost domestic production as well.

Not going to happen, the duties are only going to increase. India has to address providing massive employment to its masses. We are open for investments though china should increase there investments in India..

You cannot stop them for furthering their education. They may not be able to practice in India but they can go to other countries where the restrictions are not so stringent. It is not that they will not become good doctors, it all depends on how you apply your talent. I am a product of private engg. college and our extended family has four specialist doctors and two engineers all graduated from private colleges.

First time I learned that Indian universities are that great, tell your students stop coming to China.

India and indians have a great zeal of learning. Every one here want their sons to be doctors and engineers and management professionals. However , we maintain certain standard. Those who do not qualify here goes outside to be Doctors and to get other degrees. We can not let our standard down to such level. They either goes to china or russia and gets degrees. Nobody will give them job here, Better they settle there and earn their livelihood. Other countries such as US , China , Russia and Europe has a very poor standard of education (Except few universities) compared to India so they may fit there. Here they will remain unemployed.

.
Unlike in China, we cannot tell our students here what to study and where to study.
I hope India can improve their university rankings in the world. You can think greatly of your schools the whole world thinks otherwise. Chinese universities advance rapidly in this regard.

East Asian families are more so just in case you don't know, Confucius himself was an education whose thought was the foundation of East Asian culture.

Why India fared poorly in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings

It beats me why Indian would even believe their universities have high standards. There is no a single Indian university in top 200 in global ranking, and 80% of their engineering graduates are not even "employable". Indians should drop this arrogant attitude and learn to be humble until India is considered an overachiever.

Ask Indian students themselves, not keyboard Indian warriors here. Ask real Indian students why they made this choice.

Indian Students Prefer China Over Britain

They can belive whatever they want to believe, they've been living under a rock for too long

Indian engineering students can't think as high as Chinese and Russians: Report

NEW DELHI: India may have a large number of youth but most of them are inadequately skilled for jobs. It's truer in case of engineering education. IITians sure have impressed the world but a large number of students passing out of ordinary colleges are not even employable, let alone comparing with their counterparts from advanced countries.

A study has found that Russian and Chinese engineering students are better than those in India. Indian students make substantial gains in mathematics and critical thinking skills in the first two years of their education compared to their counterparts in China and Russia, but their overall higher-order thinking skills are substantially lower than the Chinese and Russians. This is the preliminary finding of learning outcome assessment of undergraduate engineering students conducted by Stanford University and the World Bank, according to an Indian Express report.

The World Bank and Stanford University surveyed roughly 5,000 first-year and third-year B.Tech students from 200 randomly-selected public and private engineering institutes last year. These 200 institutes did not include the Indian Institutes of Technology or the IITs. Similar learning assessments were also conducted for engineering students in China and Russia.Detailed findings of this survey, which is part of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) supported by the World Bank, will be presented formally to the HRD Ministry this week, says the report.

More than a decade ago, a McKinsey report said just a quarter of engineers in India were actually employable. Of late, some other studies put it at less than 20%. Last year, a survey by employability assessment firm Aspiring Minds said 95% of Indian engineers can’t even code. Though graduates from India's premiere engineering colleges such as the IITs are still in demand, it is the thousands of other engineering colleges and ITIs which churn out millions of graduates every year whose employability is questionable.

The blame doesn't lie with the students but the large number of engineering colleges mushrooming in the country in the past decade. These colleges often lack even required infrastructure and faculty. Old problems of low-quality education and outdated curricula have become more pronounced with automation, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies reshaping businesses and industry.

India's much-touted demographic dividend, which can help India compete with China in manufacturing in near future, will turn into a burden if employability of graduates does not go up. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream project of 'Make in India' is hobbled by lack of employable graduates. The project aspires to increase manufacturing capacity in India and generate 100 million jobs by 2022. That's too difficult with the kind of graduates our engineering colleges churn out.

that's not for education but to secure a job.
