India Is The World's Only Counter Weight To China

We do have our share (and more) of corruption. China is not exactly free from it. Your trying to bash Indian corruption is really funny. China is one of the most corrupt societies in the world, with people needing to bribe even to have kids.

Only your opaque, all controlling CCP doesn't let out the truth as happens in open societies.

It is well known that 75% of exports from China are from foreign companies, a figure that rises to 85% and above for "high technology" items like assembling ipads, computers, laptops and others that the West has stopped doing.

The arrogance on the part of so many of you doesn't fool anyone.

bribe to have kids? where did you hear that, TOIlet?

you are talking about exports, but do you think that Chinese internal market does not consume anything? that there's no high tech in China, only for export? What's the biggest internet population in the world for?

Did you just read the Wikipedia article on electronics industry of China? Come on, you need to do more research than Wikipedia.

Misunderstood me... there is no problem with opportunity.Education in high school and medical facilities are provided for free, and scholarships are provided to poor students in institutions of higher education. The problem is with reaching out to the people. It may be hard to understand but then it becomes increasingly difficult with a billion population.
So far as corruption is concerned, again I will say, much better than what we used to have in the 80s.The media has played a significant role here.
Your statement about manufacturing electronic goods is not entirely true though. Many South Korean and US based companies have production bases in China, since it is cheaper to manufacture goods their.Contract manufacturers like Foxconn take contracts from companies like Apple for mass production.

they are not production bases because they are not owned by the other companies. Foxconn is not owned by Apple. They are subcontractors, and are independent companies. They're "production bases" for thousands of companies around the world. Foxconn manufactures many different brands of smart phones at the same time for multiple clients. This is subtle, but far different than if Apple had a facility in China that was owned by Apple and produced iPhones.

My location is Norway my nationality Norwegian. For my etnhic background the name I have chosen should explain it all. But why does it concern you what flags I have?

Since you are involving in a debate that involves with both India and China, so don't expect your ethnic background won't be mentioned.

I think it is a great achievement for China and will be one for India whenever we do it.

Only the foolish will try to beat drums of it. We are playing the catch up game.

Do you think the 1960s space exploration made by USSR has any comparison with China today's space program?

It is like comparing the Zero fighter to the F-22 raptor because they both can fly.

Many Indians have this mentality that their country or even parts of their country are somehow equal, or even superior, to China's average. For truth, this idea must be completely and totally smashed. It must be drilled into Indian's heads, for the good of themselves, that their nation is inferior, backwards and behind, and by a huge margin.

The difference between India and China is not just quantitative but qualitative. The level of technological disparity between India and China is far greater than that between China and the United States. There is no field of technology in which India can challenge China, new or old, other than perhaps pharmaceuticals. There are numerous fields in which China is challenging or has achieved parity with the United States, including solar energy, steel, advanced specialized materials, aerospace, shipbuilding, mining, construction and construction equipment, railroads, telecommunications equipment and lasers.

This is the cultural difference, since the Chinese people prefer to be low-profiling.

Good, you are catching up. ;)

All this internet, mobiles, broadband, fibre cables, smart phones...

Tell me what part of it was invented in China? You are so proud of just learning to adopt American inventions and enjoying the fruits of their investments and brilliance?

On that bribe part:

A Chinese national must obtain permission to be married as well as to have a child. Although the PRC government says that ethnic minorities are exempt from the one-child policy, some minorities, such as the Uighurs, allege that they have been brutally forced to comply.

Some exemptions exist for men who remarry. In addition, if a first child is handicapped, it may be possible to get permission for a second child, especially if the handicapped child is a girl. In other areas, particularly the more rural regions, payment of a bribe may be sufficient to obtain permission for multiple children.

China's One-Child Policy

Don't think you can get away with bluster. You won't.

China does not meet the definition of a developed nation, at least not according to the UN, which lists it in 91st spot on its Human Development Index. Concerning GDP per capita, or so says the IMF, China is in 94th place. About 60 percent of Chinese exports come from foreign companies; for high-tech exports, that’s 85 percent. China has astonishing pollution problems, a culture of corruption and an antiquated education system. It also has a millennia-long tradition of authoritarianism.

I think it's other way. Many Chinese have this mentality that they are superior than most of the countries. They always bring other country to compare. Japan and US are still many decades ahead than China in technology. You can check Top 100 brands from Microsoft to Mitsubishi. Apple to Samsung. 90% are still made in US, Japan and other developed countries.

In 1-2 decades, many things changes. We don't claim that we are superior in most of the fields. We are improving and hopefully we will do better. India is doing well in many sectors, but still long way to go. 20 years back, we were at no where......who knows what will happen after 20 years, We might be in much better positions.

You are just third rate poor copy cats. Not a single innovation in a thousand years.

Of course, being from a "millennia-long tradition of authoritarianism", you do as you are told.

Every thing that you are beating the drums of here, not a single thing out of them can be called a Chinese innovation.

Your only innovation was the iron making in the backyard and that "great leap", just make sure you can make it across the next one.

Yes, it is a third rate copy of that.

Lol, the safety issue of the 1960s USSR manned program was a little more than 50%, today's Russia at 93%, and China at over 95%.

Do you seriously think there is any value to compare the stuff from the different era?

Troy Parfitt is the author of Why China Will Never Rule the World.

LMAO. So you cite the Taipei times? Might as well cite North Korea newspaper for South Korea articles

Just reading the article was a funny experience in US propaganda and low IQ storytelling for the masses. The situation on the ground is different.

List of countries by patents - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SJR - International Science Ranking

Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Engineering, Computing & Technology

03 Tsinghua University China
20 Zhejiang University China

And I don't think I have to mention Fortune 500 and how Huawei is the most innovative company in the world by patents.

i see here on pdf,how much low profile are u.
nothing less than a troll army

Our govt is quiet, and the Chinese members in PDF are stating the fact.

Have you seen as many of Chinese members deliberately starting a thread to bash India like your Indian members did to China?

Check the fortune 500. China is 2nd place to USA and the numbers don't lie. Chinese companies that are strong are all upstream. Branding doesn't mean technological prowess. Prada is a high worth brand but do you really think that Prada or Gucci is high tech?

What good is a Samsung phone or iPhone, which thousands of companies can copy were it not for IP laws, if it doesn't have a world class telecom network behind it, the likes of which only around 10 companies (including Huawei) can make and is so difficult that even if given the entire blueprints it will still take billions of dollars to create? That's upstream vs. downstream, and upstream always has more power than downstream yet is always less visible.
