That's where we disagree. it is not the foreign media that is to blame, it is the hyperventilating local media that is. Who do you think insists on making a tamasha of every story? There are dozens of reports on TV talking about rapes of children as young as 3 when the actual allegation is of molestation at worst. Do you think anyone who reads or watches that makes that distinction? All the see is "rape". The media uses the word to create a scene & then sits back & watches the fun for days. The BBC is responsible for that? That kind of reporting anywhere else would get a stern reprimand from any regulator but that is par for the course in India. Blaming foreigners is the easy part, we have made a circus of every case. What happened in the Badaun case? How many people would have heard of the 2 girls "raped" & murdered by being hung from a tree and how many of would have heard of the eventual CBI report ruling out rape? We are the ones making a tamasha of ourselves, blaming foreigners always comes easy to us.

And actions like this will ensure the filtering of reports from Indian media by foreign ones

I read the international news every day after reading my local news, they seem to have a fetish for social problems in India, especially this issue.

Exactly, BBC wants to show that India has got big problems like epidermis. Every one look towards India and tell them you are in trouble. Why don't we tell them, that because they do not have any culture, of covering body, this does not mean they are liberal. Or just because you allow one night stands this does not mean they are fine.
