Since Kashmir is a dispute, the Instrument of Accession was validated by these special status articles in Indian Constitution. That Kashmir will enjoy a special status within Indian Union as to the practices of religion, culture and demography of Kashmir.

like this poster pointed out...kashmiris will have less control over demogrpahics etc..you will see the demography of kashmir change ala almost exactly like what happened in israel..im not talking about what article 370 states but its effects in the future

With revocation of this article, India will force a change in demographics. Its a copy paste of Israeli policies in Palestine. But Palestine has no backer now. All Arabs governments have sold their souls. Palestine leadership too is very corrupt.

Kashmir has a very solid backer in Pakistan. Its a nuclear state. Granted its past leadership has been incompetent but unlike Palestine, India does not have decisive advantage on Pakistan that Israel had on Arabs because of American support. Also, India tried hard, did all it could in past 15 years to drag Kashmir into oblivion. It could not. It was due to Kashmiri resilience. India will surely fail.

So you wana risk lives of 200 million people for 10 million people ? While nothing has happened on the ground. There is Geneva convention Indians still use pellets guns and cluster bombs. It looks that the "deep state inside US" has trumped its President. The President must be feeling very stupid now.

Trump probably doesn't care that much to be feeling stupid. I think Trump was sympathetic towards IK personally a little. However, his deliberate misrepresentation of India's "briefing on their intent to abrogate 370" as a "request for mediation on Kashmir" was designed to troll Modi and remind Modi who holds the leverage in terms of trade, indo-Pacific politics and S400 discussions.

Trump doesn't actually give a flying fudge about Kashmir and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

That said, the one card IK holds with regards to forcing Trump to play ball is Afg, if he can be smart enough to use that leverage. Aside from that, IK needs to build up troops on the LOC to at least cause india to panic.
