India informed USA twice to scrap A 370

US is not God..

US couldn't achieve its objectives in Afghanistan. Pakistan can play same game what it played in Afghanistan..
Since 2001, American agenda in Afghanistan is/was to dismantle the notorious Al-Qaeda Network in the region, and this objective is thankfully fulfilled.

Now, of-course, US had to make sure that whomsoever will rule over Afghanistan for long-term, will not repeat the mistakes of the original Afghan Taliban-led regime in Afghanistan (providing shelter to internationally recognized terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda Network and its affiliates). Afghan Taliban have accepted this 'condition' in order for US to minimize its military foothold in the region.

For reference: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/afghan...ted-us-taliban-peace-talks-today-2019-08-06/#

In turn, US might allow Afghan Taliban to regain power across Afghanistan but US will press for a peaceful transition.

Some people are quick to drawing conclusions about matters that have not formally concluded but US is very close to accomplishing all of its objectives in Afghanistan.

This reality was also hinted not long ago: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/trum...ace-of-the-earth-literally-in-10-days.628084/

Nobody should be foolish enough to question the raw power of US, it does have a say in numerous affairs across the board.

Lasting peace can be achieved in Afghanistan by silencing millions in a short span OR through dialogue. Which option is better? :-)

So what?? Its not Pakistan's problem. Kashmiris have to take stand themselves, Pakistan's population is 200 million , kashmir's population is 10 million. So you wana risk lives of 200 million people for 10 million people ? While nothing has happened on the ground. There is Geneva convention Indians still use pellets guns and cluster bombs. What can you do?
you're right. Kashmiris will take a stand themselves. its for them to do that. Pakistan will support them as thats Pakistan's obligation to do that. It is Pakistan's choice to recognize their struggle and to support them in achieving freedom. And no power on earth can/should deny them this basic right.

If US could do what Trump said, it would have done it long ago..

The whole world will become a target training ground for Muslims against US citizens..

There are repercussions attached to what Trump said in emotions.. Anyway, I don't want to discuss this anymore as there are pressing issues which are being discussed now..

They feared for the reprisals IMO!!! But, the Caesar, enjoying the game while sitting on the best place in the arena, loves the gladiators fighting one another to death....
Good observation, friend.

India had no choice but to take US into confidence in this matter (i.e. scrapping Article 370). They wanted to see how US will react to this move.

If US strongly object to this move, India will not have much room to maneuver and might have to reconsider. However, as you hinted, Caesar might be interested in watching games. :-)

I do not subscribe to the theory of [if X could do that, it would have done a long time ago] - WORLD does not function in this manner on the whole. US can exterminate Afghanistan tomorrow, if it chooses to [no ifs and buts]. But again, why would US consider this route when Afghans are talking to them and desire a negotiated settlement? Make no sense, right?

Yeah, I saw this when American military buildup was taking place near Iraqi borders in 2003. :disagree:

People are not zombies, and nobody give a damn about what happens to another country in a war.

Anyways, I am aware about what is happening around, and I do not think that Pakistan and India can afford another war in Kashmir (too much at stake in this game on both ends), and I believe that US will intervene sooner or later.

On a side note, what is happening in Kashmir is troubling to say the least. However, Indian move does not surprise me in person (they were planning something radical for Kashmir for a while now); decades old status-quo could not continue for indefinite period IMHO.

Good thing is that Pakistan have succeeded in drawing global attention to Indian atrocities in Kashmir. Let us see what happens next.

I didn't say.. It was President Trump who said that US COULD HAVE ....

They didn't, it means they couldn't..

India is rather 70 years late!!! And, the timing couldn’t have been worse....

Lack of political will does not translate to lack of capability. US showed no mercy to ISIS across Iraq and Syria for instance, entire cities were reduced to dust in the offensive.

They CAN do that, Donald Trump just wanted to stated the obvious but he also mentioned that he does not desire this route to settle scores in Afghanistan. I am not sure why is this even an argument.

I just answered your comment.. When trump says that he could have done that, I say yes, with the power he has, he could.. but life of US citizens would have been limited within the US..

As I said, I do not want to indulge in this useless talk... there are other pressing matters.. US is hell bent on leaving Afghanistan at all costs.. They tried to kill all Talibans, but they couldn't.. At this point in time, this is the only truth..

I just wish that Kashmir-related dispute is settled as per the wishes of the Kashmiri people in IOK, or as per consensus in the international stage.

I really hate the British for leaving the matters of Kashmir and Palestine unresolved after WW2.
