.. i guess congress winning the next election will do the job for us

If it happens, I will simply stop paying my taxes and do all my transactions with black money... will buy some suitcases for storage and retrofit all cupboards with reinforced steel and start my own home bank. :D

lol.. don't get me wrong!! i don't care what happens in other countries. it doesn't effect me what kind of corruption they do & how much is it when compared to india's!! i know this much that there is a huge amount of corruption in india in every part of the society & it does effect people's day today life in india!! it's india's corruption which effects indians.. not the outside world's one!!
You are right.... need to have more responsible people in the govt and widespread reforms to thin down the bureaucracy. Until that happens corruption will continue. Start sentencing the corrupt leaders into jails and you will start to see the system change.

These days the people who get caught for corruption, use their "expertise" to their own advantage against the judicial system.

By the way its a surprise for me that a Prime Minister who has literally lifted India from ground to a level where it is taken one of emerging economies of the world is still taken as "corrupt" and you guys are not satisfied with his performance. One reason why we think is that we don't watch Indian Media.

It is not about the PM... everyone respects him and gives him the due credit... the issue is with the others in the party or the coalition parties and mostly the ineffectiveness of the govt in controlling the corruption in the bureaucracy.
Bureaucracy has nothing to do with the political party in power... but rather answerable to the country.... if there were stricter rules against corruption by the law makers, then it would die its natural death.

Hong Kong! :china:

In fact, Hong Kong had a lot of corruption before we brought in the "ICAC".

And I'm sure those same experts are now advising in Beijing as well.

Hong Kong is just a bit small for its land, hopefully it can be unified with Shenzhen to create a mega metropolitan. Can this happen in the future? :D

That would be really amazing. :azn:

It would be difficult though. Hong Kong and Shenzhen are already two of the biggest cities in China.

Merging them would create an absolutely massive city...

Hong Kong with the available land of the Mainland China, can even rival the mighty New York City, this is no joke.

Both Beijing and Shanghai will annexe more small cities around them, and i think Hong Kong should do the same.

I guess it is up to the Beijing government to decide.

The problem is, what will we name the new city? Maybe combine the names of Xianggang/Shenzhen/Guangzhou?

Yeah I heard about that.

Shameful Hong Kong media, even the highly respected South China Morning Post (SCMP) printed that false story.

Since the rumours have been denied though, then how can Hong Kong and Shenzhen merge? It sounds good, but maybe it is too difficult.

Until the two systems for one country is expired, maybe it is another 40 years to wait. :undecided:
