India fails to pass ANTI-CORRUPTION BILL !

It's our Politicians are to be blamed....in any organisation if the CEO is corrupt and inefficient then his subordinates will follow his foot step...if the ministers are efficient and clean then the bureaucrats will fall in line. Not all politicians are corrupt in India, we have seen many great selfless leaders - who lived their life for our country and one such example is late Shri. Kamaraj - he was the CM of Tamil Nadu for 15 years and all the developments today made by Tamil Nadu was becuse of the seeds shown by him in his rule, even after remaining Chief Minister for 15 years he had zero bank balance and no property as his possession...

K. Kamaraj - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

President, not offend, but I have already said you can not do anything in a few months ago, even though there was a grand anti-corruption campaign. Now, what do you think?

The bill has failled nine times since 1968, that's 42 years of suffering for a large portion of the population. The price is at least as high as the Chinese had to pay for all the political mistakes of the past like the Great Leap Backward and the Cultural Revolution. At least in the past 20 years most Chinese are experiencing a great amount of improvement in living standard and other basic human rights like food security, education and health. How many more Indians have to suffer till the bill gets passed and how many more years till it becomes effective? We know e.g. that Casteism is abolished by law since Indian independence but until today this old tradition is still practiced in many parts of India.

As I said, it's a catch 22, either authocratic India breaking apart with possible civil wars and lots of suffering or suffering due to snail pace democratic development.

As for your last question answer is clear , we will rather choose slow growth over autocracy any day , no question about it .I don`t know if it is correct to compare cultural revolution with our inaction against the corruption which is ,no doubt, costing us dear.IMO,Lokapl bill is not the end of corruptuion in my country rather it is just a mean among countless others to fight corruption. It is extremely powerbill which gives immense power on the hands of ordinary citizens like me to exercise our right against corruptuion. So the question is are we ready for it ? you know the answer(with great power.......).So the provision of the bill must be fully debated before it is passed

Besides you would agree, i think ,that it is wise to pass a well planned and fully debated law by our lawmakers than just pass a powerful bill under the pressure of people who may not have a fully informed opinion. What happened in the past(previous 9 failures) is not related to present situation (evrytime lokshaba was dissolved before the bill could be passed)Anna and his campaign rightly gets the credit for popularizing the bill but in the end lawmakers should take their time to fully discuss the bill.
I tried to go through the contents of the bill ,but to be honest i m too stupid to understand the immensely mind boggling contents of the subject. If you have patience and intrest you may go through following links

Wow that sucks Indians. I offer my condolences. I thought the bill would have been revolutionary for the subcontinent.

your condolences are better suited for your own political system

the bill hasn't failed just yet, Indian civil society has put immense pressure on our polity to pass a strong/credible anti-graft bill.
We recognize the issue, and are taking major steps to solve it.

So, we have no control over government employees, government funds, government policies. Is this democracy? Just vote once in five years and then plead before the same people who you voted to power?

Good ideas and sharp, there are any ideas, Indian members?

Unfortunately, Maoist or the India's poor is not the same idea and you.

thanks and agreed. the indian polity and civil society haven't given up on the bill yet, its quite pathetic that non-indians are ridiculing our efforts when their own nations are just as corrupt and they suffer just as much

India has never been a democracy, its really a political oligarchy owned by wealthy landlords n capitalists who keep sending ppl to vote for them through hook n crook on false promises n keep giving injections of democracy to the awaam. In fact its just like Pakistan where Nawaz n Zaradari own Pakistan, in India its the Ghandis and Modi's. Thats the sad reality.

there's no democracy without transparency,

blabbering without thinking? our experiment with democracy has been far more successful than PK.
We're not perfect by a long mile, but we work hard to improve it.

To be honest, this is a world for who is more broken and this is the nature of the world, friends, so, from this perspective, China has set a better "forms of corruption" than India, but the key is, what with India's democratic came to India, you think?

^could you be clearer, the English is a bit hard to understand.

Oh, a little embarrassed,^^ forget that, in fact, what is my question, you know it.

This is not a perfect world, every country has a defect, we only can compare who is the worse. We are compare that who is the worse, friends.

Mate seriously I don´t know how to reply you but as I see it, the primary concern of lawmakers is not the utility of bill(which nobody doubt will be useful for the nation building) but more about the abuse of the bill for vested interest by some people who could be anti-national. As far as maoist are concerned bill or no bill they must give up their arms and try to utilize whatever peaceful means the constitution provide to voice their grievances and they must not impede the development efforts put forward by the govt for their benefit.Poverty is no doubt a concern, but it is not just going to vanish overnight if the bill is passed, at best it will only hasten the ongoing process of development and reform..

comparison for inspiration should be done. what shouldn't be done is ridiculing someone's efforts and looking down upon the less-fortunate others.
does that answer your question?

The problem is the "a night" has been too long, I think even some of the Indians feel it.
