This thread is about the fact that India has bowed to Americans regarding Iran. Of course I want to crow to some of you lot on here who are even now in denial and pretend that you are not two faced

why are you Indians getting hot and going of topic on to Pakistan.

You don't seem to understand do you?? instead of circumstantial situations (due to sanctions and logistics) can you show one GOI statement saying that they are reducing oil imports from Iran due to the US request? Indian oil firms are increasingly circumspect as to availability of Irani oil, Difficulty in payment methodology / Logistical issues / US pressure / other lucrative oil and Gas contracts in lieu of Iranian crude has brought down the quantum of import.

When countries are collaborated into partnerships or mutual strategic interests they do take into consideration each others concerns.

The greater international concern backed forcefully by the US is to bring an end to Iranian Nuke program via discussions and pressure. The unilateral sanctions are not working as a pressure point. The next step is to stifle trade which is what is happening. India is a part of the international community who wants peaceful negotiations with Iran which btw is a signatory to NPT. India doesn't have a problem with Iran's peaceful use of nuclear tech, the oil sanctions will not work if India keeps importing the same quantities hence the pressure on India, which being in a comity of nations who wants peaceful resolution to the issue has to abide to some extent with the sanctions. And to make it seem like its doing it not bcos of problems in trading but bcos of the US call for reduction is for the galleries.

India did not really dump Iran. They made a very clever move. They just reduced oil supplies by 11% only to wield stick and carrot to Obama and at the same time maintain ties with Iran.

if you are wary of religion-based country, you should stay far away from US, which is by far the most religious and is run by a bunch of religious nuts - or is it just only white folks' religious fanaticism that can be termed reason and secularity in the eyes of indian subjects of former british raj?
