I'm in a 'local' type office behind the original nucleus of the IT play here, the 'Cyber Tower' above. The IT thing is 50 acres of office towers and support buildings like hotels etc. I can see said office towers from the office window, I'm posting from the boardroom and see it from my 'Service Apartment' Hotel .

Saw a Jaguar driving in front or passing by yesterday.

It's true, it's happening here. Hyderabad's still got the small sub-continental town feel (or smell :phew but from the inside, it's mind boggling. What will it grow up to be?

Which city is the fastest growing in terms of GDP? Is most of the development centered on the South West of India or is it distributed evenly across the country. The railway system seems pretty good, but they should expand it across the country.

Yes it's uneven growth. Broadly speaking, 4 south and two western states + Delhi and surrounding states(Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh [created from eastern half of Punjab province that India got during partition] and western UP) are developing fast.
Rest of North and eastern states are lagging behind because of historical, social and political reasons.
But even in developing states some regions are backward and backward states also have some pockets of growth. MP and Rajasthan used to be grouped as backward states, but they have good cities like Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal that are growing rapidly. Far Northeast is undeveloped economically and industrially, but has high literacy and HDI scores.
The backward northern and eastern states are also most populous ones having half of India's population, so once they start growing at faster rate, India's growth rate will get a boost.

Everything is distributed unevenly in India. Just take a look at the underdeveloped NE of India and compare it to all those western/southern areas which you can see in this thread.

But you cannot only blame the GOI for this, the states in the NE have to change as well.

seeing a few pages of thsi topic its good to see india invest heavily in the infrstructure. in long run this area gives greatest dividends, as well as quality public healthcare and education. employment and purchasing power thrive when first three are done well. also nice to see poster saying still long way to go. when you keep head firmly on the shoulders and work diligently this is how you succeed. hopefuly you accelrate this path and rest of developing world also regains lost time =]
