Impressive development. How much money does the government spend on the infrastructure each year from its budget?

about 100 billion USD

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in the Union budget 2012-13 proposed allocation of Rs. 50 lakh crore towards infrastructure investment during the Twelfth Plan period. About half of this is likely to come from the private sector.

Idk about that but the GoI is embarking on spending $1.3 TRILLION USD on infrastructure in the next 4-5 years.

Most of it will be spent in creating SEZ's and SIR's especially projects like the delhi mumbai industrial corridor. They won't have immediate payoffs but because of this investment we will see new cities emerging in 10-15 years time.

The trickle down effects will be considerable.

This is an incredible amount of money and it will bring a positive outcome for the people. However many Indians complain that the current government is weak, but it seems like its doing a fantastic job.
