I'm genuinely curious, do Indian members actually think that a person who builds a temple and worships other than Allah, can ever be actually considered a Muslim?

I thought even the Hindus of India know that Islam starts with monotheism?

Maybe it's that Indian islam has a lot of 'shrines' and such so they get it mixed up?

Anyone who has ever read the Quran knows how it starts and ends (and everything in between) with clear distinction between monotheism and polytheism. Even the Christian trinity is considered and called polytheism explicitly.

It is the most fundamental of tenets of Islam. Everything follows from it and without it there is no Islam.
