In a first, women of armed forces to march on R-Day

.
Nah,women joining in combat battalions will be nothing short of a disaster as far as the combat capabilities of the Indian Army is concerned.Mate we do have to accept the fact that women are not physically comparable to their male counterparts and in real life combat zones it will cost the I.A. a great deal. However, women officers and soldiers in other branches of the I.A. is quite acceptable specially in the Signals and in the Aviation Corp because of their quick reflexes.Simply put,the general Indian populace are yet to accept women in active combat role:coffee:.
Oh No Manly thoughts :p Mike_Brando I know some women who can beat any man with "dhobi-pachadh" with "martial arts"
wanna meet them :D :p
its a great news that now we women will participate in Republic Day

I agree, I didn't say women should be given combat roles in the IA, this would not be wise at all. Women can (and are) perform exceptionally well in the non-combat arms of the military however and this should be further encouraged.

Never been a fan of Russians... though I like Putin. lol

Great going . appreciate the gesture of our pm . time to bring bill to enforce 33% reservation for women in legislatures .....

No thanks. NO reservations.

Those women who want to serve the country in ANY form whether military or civilian are most welcome to join in any position they want. They want to join politics, they can. But not as reservation.

Reservation has ruined Indian intellect and research.

the "most" i agree in principle, but its degree is around 70 percent, not less.

and the rest of them... well... :)

Never been a fan of Russians... though I like Putin. lol

generally, they are quite practical people, politically aware, politically active, inventive, and speak common sense... you can observe that just from the russians on pdf... vostok, for example.

Ma'am,i am not a male chauvinist if that's you were trying to imply in your post:P.I am simply pointing out the pros and cons of having women in active combat duty in the Indian Army,Please don't take it otherwise but it's a fact that an average woman is physically weaker than her male counterpart(i am not talking about Phoolan Devi types:lol:).So the only way the Army can induct large no. of women in it's combat arm if it lowers the standard of the tough physical fitness test that all the recruits have to pass to join the I.A.Hence the ultimate sufferer in this context will be the fighting capability of the I.A.:coffee:
Women officers and soldiers are doing great in the non-combat corps of the I.A.We all know that women are there in large nos. both in the Signals and in the Army Aviation corp plus there is a need for women officers in the A.M.C. and A.S.C. also.Women can contribute a lot to the I.A. if they decide to join these corps as the I.A. has been suffering from a critical shortage of Commissioned officers:cheers:.
