In western countries loving your pet dogs is quite normal. And this is also true for the high class people of South Asia

In our area even poor people have dogs and they take care of them. I doubt it have anything to do with high class/rich.

Comparing IK with Jinnah is unfair. IK is a good and honest person but still does not come close to Jinnah sahb. keeping dog is IK' s personnel choice which has nothing to do with the country.

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "While a man was walking on his way he became extremely thirsty. He found a well, he went down into it to drink water. Upon leaving it, he saw a dog which was panting out of thirst. His tongue was lolling out and he was eating moist earth from extreme thirst. The man thought to himself: 'This dog is extremely thirsty as I was.' So he descended into the well, filled up his leather sock with water, and holding it in his teeth, climbed up and quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah appreciated his action and forgave his sins". The Companions asked: "Shall we be rewarded for showing kindness to the animals also?" He (ﷺ) said, "A reward is given in connection with every living creature".

Another narration says: "Once a dog was going round the well and was about to die out of thirst. A prostitute of Banu Israel happened to see it. So she took off her leather sock and lowered it into the well. She drew out some water and gave the dog to drink. She was forgiven on account of her action".

These Hadiths only tell us to show mercy and kindness toward animals. keep dog as pet in home is another matter BTW.

IK has a LARGE farm house, and keeping a farm-dog to guard the land is totally fine.Read Ahadees on that matter.

IK also goes for hunting and keeping dog for hunting is also permissible in Ahadees.

You can even eat the game that trained-dog fetch for you in it's mouth.​

Narrated `Adi bin Hatim: I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) (about the hunting dogs) and he replied, "If you let loose (with Allah's name) your tamed dog after a game and it hunts it, you may eat it, but if the dog eats of (that game) then do not eat it because the dog has hunted it for itself." I further said, "Sometimes I send my dog for hunting and find another dog with it. He said, "Do not eat the game for you have mentioned Allah's name only on sending your dog and not the other dog.

It was narrated that 'Adiyy bin Hatim said:
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I release my trained dogs and they catch (game) for me; can I eat It? Prophet of ALLAH said: 'When you release your trained dogs and they catch (game) for you, then eat.' I said: 'Even if they kill it.' He said: 'So long as no other dogs have joined them." I said: 'I shoot with the Mirad. And they penetrate (the game).' He said 'If they penetrate it, then eat, but if the broad said strikes it, then do not eat.""

You are right about islam asking Muslims to treat animal with kindness and fulfill their rights but dont be selective in your approach to islam . What you will say about these hadits in bold

Saad rafique has lost his mind. So what if he has a dog. I couldnt care less if he eats dogs as long as he is sincere to pakistan. This is some real cheap stuff. Some very cheap stuff. I am extremely disgusted at this low brand of politics, when you start pointing fingers at your opponents having pets, you show that you have nothing on your opponent and are only blowing D class hot air.

Comparing anyone to the Quaid is improper - Quaid-e-Azam was God's gift to Pakistanis....no one....no one measures up to an iota of his Greatness !

I think people are wrongly pointing fingers at IK about Jinnah, IK personally did not compare himself to Jinnah but that is what people and media are comparing him to. On the other hand in this modern day IK for large population of Pakistanis God's gift, ppl some may disagree though.

The problem of these social psychopaths like fiqua ustand/khoon league are; Chinese eating dogs in Pakistan that I know personally also is all fine for them Govt but IK keeping dogs or patting/kissing is a crime.

As for the culture remark its very much in pakistan and dogs are perhaps kept as pets more than cats. The owners will always feel a closeness towards dogs since their loyalty and love for their owner makes them a better companion than any friend can offer and that will always attract people towards that pet. I am sure many N members and supporters have dogs.
