If something unfortunate happens, I won't be the only one going back home: Sarfaraz Ahmed

"If anyone thinks that I will go home, then it is their idiocy. If God forbid something unfortunate happens then I won't be the only one going back home,"
I have struggled to understand Sarfraz's point since I first heard this statement. Surely if Sarfraz is defending himself, he should say: "if God forbid something unfortunate happens then I won't be the only one NOT ALLOWED back home".

It's like some reverse psychology trick of his to wink wink ensure he is able to enter Pak after this debacle.

This is alleged audio leak of some Raju Jameel . He talks about some players + Inzis plot against Sarfaraz and how Pak team is divided

Streak comes to an end eventually and we're discussing ODI which is completely different game. In the last 2 years Shinwari has taken 3rd most wickets of any Pakistani player (the other two are Shadab and Hasan Ali) at an average of 19.3. Hasan is out of favor and Shinwari's record blows everyone else out of the water.

As for your team Babar should not open, look at every team in the world the best batsman is #3: Kohli, Williamson, Root, Smith. That position is reserved for the best in Pakistan's case that's Babar.
As i said Shinwari is one dimensional, maybe if he develops himself.

In regards to Babar and 3rd position
He opens in T20 as well with one position he might become better we need stability with 3rd Pakistan can add one more specialist batsman Pakistan can try Sarfraz , hafeez or abid heck even fawad which will make sure rotation of strike doesnt stop in middle over , place which Pakistan has been lacking run in past few years

He was already nervous before the start of the tournament and if you don't believe then just look at his closed body language in this pic...look at his clasping hands its clear he uncomfortable and not confident and then look at Kohli's body language you will see the difference between the confidence..

i think with few exceptions this is the best combination we sent at the world cup. other then amir and babar azam there is no world class player in the team. malik, parchi and hafeez shouldn't be selected at all. we have got junk players in store as well. none of them are capable of playing at international level. people are talking about husnain. he failed miserably against SA and eng recently. pathetic bowler with pace only and no brain. shaheen is another fool with no line and length. the biggest disappointment is hassan ali who is good only for psl. pak has to take discarded players back into the team like wahab riaz and he is better then shaheen and husnain. the people in pcb has no sense of cricket . they are just a bunch of railu kattas.

I don't live in Pakistan, therefore, I already stated I don't know many names and only commented on those names I have seen batting. Abid Ali and Rizwan are two of those.

I played league Cricket in England at a very good level in 90s and early 2000s.
I used to bowl quick, quicker than most what we paraded in Pakistani colors at Present or in near past. Could swing the ball both ways and had very good Yorker.

Believe me, Abid Ali is utter crap as a batsman. He would get owned very quickly on quick and green pitches. I am sure you are right, he may be good on Pakistani pitches. He is stale, not quick scorer and have plenty of chinks in his armor, which could be exploited easily.

Tell me why West Indies got Pakistan out on 120+?? Why Pakistani players fall like flies!!
Why you think Sarfraz is shitting in his pants to bat first after wining the toss!!

Anyway, anyone who scored with strike rate of 70 or 80 is a disaster for the team, no matter how many runs he scored.
Unfortunately Pak is having mostly slow batsmen like Imam Ul Haq or even Harris Sohail, Baber Azam though playing better butt still a slow player needs improvement meanwhile attacking players like Hafeez, Fakhar and Asif Ali have done nothing. Even Captain himself is proving to be substandard in captaincy as well as wicket keeping.

Does this beghairat has the answer why he chose to field first?
Bro i agree that bowling first was a mistake in such high pressure game. Fully agree with this part. However please note that:
  1. The decision to bowl or bat first is NOT abruptly made at the toss
  2. This thing is discussed between team management including coach, captain and senior team players.
  3. Weather forecast and conditions are taken into account as well as the strengths of the opposition team is considered.
all in all, it is a joint decision, not one by the captain alone.

Sarfraz isn't fit to play gully cricket anymore let alone international cricket. Doesn't look like this cow have taken care of himself at all. His huge belly was embarrassing to say the least.

Indeed thats the point, it wasn't made on the spot but would have been agreed beforehand. The whole management should hang their heads in shame at such an amateur decision against probably the best batting line up at the WC.

I have said it earlier, most of our guys are not willing to admit it but perhaps the decision had something to do with fear. There was some fear of facing Indian fast bowlers in overcast conditions on a pitch that had been under cover for 18 to 24 hours. We thought that we may exploit the situation and also that we didn't wanted Indians to do it. Kohli said at the toss that he would have bowled first too. It was somewhat unlucky that the pitch didn't behaved as everyone was expecting it to. Also a mistake to either ignore or not be aware of the fact that this ground/pitch traditionally helps spinner in second half and that India is perhaps best at chasing and we are perhaps worst at it. So over all, it was a combinations of bad decision making and little bit of luck not favoring us. However the decision was not made by captain alone!
