Though indian armed forces are formidable - they do have weaknesses - that we can exploit - thanks to our Chinese brothers - we will have a 5th Generation aircraft - at the same time, if not before the indians.

I think most Pakistani members know it is highly unlikely the PAF will get the J-20 as the high costs of initial purchase and later maintenance is much higher than the PAF has ever encountered and much beyond what the Pakistani members can realistically afford. If the PAF was to get the J-20 this would be a completely new doctrine they were operating in the sense the J-20 is a twin engine fighter and the PAF has only ever operated single engined fighters, a doctrine Pakistani members swear by. Addtionally I have heard the Chinese are looking to develop a cheaper and less capable 5th gen fighter for export, the J-XX,which would seem to fit the PAF's needs and as much has been said by Pakistanis. In this case though the J-XX as not even been seen nor flight tested and it is not even known if this is confirmed so the assert action that Pakistan could have 5th gen fighters before India is completely false. Addtionallyit has been stipulated the J-20 is nothing more than a TD for later 5th gen fighters the Chinese may develop.


India is more than likely going to be the first nation in the region to operate 5th gen a/c.

First off! We have been over '' You cannot afford anything'' argument gazillion times, so just drop it. Nobody knows where Pakistan's economy will stand in the next five years so lets not pitch in ''Hypothetical Scenarios''.
Secondly! It is not beyond Pakistan's reach to co-produce a fifth generation fighter.
So Mr I-Know-everything-about-Pakistan's-future! you worry about your country and let us worry about our.

Just because you are not capable of predicting a 5 year future does not mean others cannot. 5 years is a very short span for economist to not be able to predict with at least 95 plus% accuracy. World's credit agencies for one look at longer window in their predications, banks and monetary institutions give loans to countries based on at least that window or more. 5 year window is the easiest to look at...
