IAF plane in pakistan photo shown to COAS USA

What does this IAF 'U-S-Thees' aeroplane look like, mentioned in this news being shown to Michel Molan COAS USA, can any body share some pics?

and how come we did not shoot it down? Only contempt with photo shooting.

The report says that the Su-30 was under PAF's firing range but it returned after warning was issued and it was escorted back by a batch of Mig-29's.

عسکری ذرائع کے مطابق جس جہاز نے بارہ دسمبر کے روز لاہور سیکٹر میں پاکستان کی فضائی حدود کی خلاف ورزی کی تھی اسے پہلے سے منتظر پاکستانی لڑاکا طیاروں نے اپنی ’فائرنگ رینج’ میں لے لیا تھا لیکن مار گرانے سے پہلے دی جانے والی تنبیہ پر اس طیارے نے واپسی کا راستہ اختیار کر لیا تھا۔ اس بھارتی طیارے کو مگ انتیس جہازوں کی ایک ٹکڑی کی پشت پناہی یا بیک اپ سپورٹ بھی حاصل تھی جو بھارتی فضائی حدود سے یہ منظر دیکھ رہے تھے۔​

I have said it a 100 times you can't just shoot a plane, weather he is in Pakistan Air Space or over lahore .If the planes take any aggressive action then yes can can open fire, SOP is to escort them out of the airspace.
1982 weather was bad one of our F-6 because of bad weather and a junior officer ended up 50 miles inside India. He was escorted back into Pakistan Air Space.
Easy for you to say shoot them down are you ready to fight when the time comes. I don't think so

Just one question though don't we have a SOP for situation where IAF plane violates air space beyond certain range then it is to be shot down regardless of what it is doing.

If that SU-30 was at Kharian then perhaps it was a courtesy call for kharian_beast I think

Reading News from everywhere, I don't really find any significant military-oreiented steps being considered or contemplated by India.

My reading in to this scenario is that India's assault is more economic than military over a period of 2-3 mnths

Considering that since 2001 it is the second time they have blamed Pakistan for an attack inside India and moved large number of troops to border I think they do not have an option other than do some thing. This time the timing is also very bad. Its elections time and if they don't do any thing it would be political suicide. Opposition would portray them as weak and not capable of defending India's citizens and interest.

Indian general public would also question the deployment of troops and wastage of money associated with it. They would start asking the logic and reasons behind these type of moves when in the end nothing happens.

Bottom line is Indian government is stuck in a very auckward situation and expect any thing from them this time around.

Lets just hope and keep your fingers crossed.

I would want to tell all new indian posters and some existing ones coming on this and other pakistani forums with their biased and hate filled rubbish that the time of your arrogance to be dug in humiliation by pakistan is coming soon.


You should worry about your beloved india in the aftermath of foolish misadventure cause after any strikes the only massive massacre you will witness will be on indian soil by PAF. We will cripple your india, we will break your back and neck and legs forever. Don't underestimate pakistan, USA is soon about to find out too as zardari's ineffective government will be swiftly replaced. Our whole nation is united and gradually we have started to secure volatile areas like FATA, Bajaur,swat and balochistan. We know in all the regions mentioned above there is confirmed RAW,CIA and MOSSAD sponsorship to some misguided rebels.

With grace of ALLAH the majority pashtun have realised and pakistan army as come to understand the strategy of foreign intelligence agencies. I think Sir Murad correctly believes that neither the corrupt GOP nor the amy is ready to get involved in a war .. as during this major economic meltdown if God forbid there is a war the consequences not just for Pakistan / India but for the world would be very very bad !

Hence, the standard operation procedure that unless it is an attack on our facilities, do not shoot down or rather engage an enemy aircraft with an intention to fire missiles.

1999 - Indian Migs shoot down an unarmed Atlantique of the PN inside Pakistani Airspace after attempts to hijack the aircraft failed! Why should such liberty be offered to an armed SU-30MKI which is deep inside our territory is beyond my comprehension....you mean to tell me that any Indian fighter jet can come and survey our territory unless intercepted as it will only be escorted back instead of being shot down! When will we avenge the Atlantique? Wasn't this the best opportunity? Even if the Su-30MKI had no aggressive intentions the rest of the world didn't know that...should have shot it down just the same as we had every right to do so after violation of our Air Space!

We do not want war my friend, but be assured if war is ever imposed on us....we will stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces, Indian's or any other aggressor will not have a million or so forces to deal with, they will have to deal with 150 million Pakistani's who will unite like a fist for Pakistan!
