What's new

I miss Pervez Musharraf

True. We will never forgive him for the so called "war on terror".
He was basically a good man.

lol, Back then the entire world sided with USA on 9/11.

If you were Musharraf you would not have behaved any differently.

They told Musharraf they would bomb Pakistan back to the stone age.

Man i have YouTube channel,
I have made more content on Musharraf than any of these users.
Nice, but would you be able to defend his record here? You may be very knowledgeable but his record is abominable and hard to defend. I doubt you could do it here, it's an uphill and thankless task.

Like I said, he started and lost a poorly planned war while simultaneously undermining a peace conflcit, removed an elected government and imprisoned the PM along with judges, violated his oath and forces others to renounce theirs and swear allegiance to him, conducted heavy handed political and engineering and built a political system based on lies and propaganda, fought another war with the judiciary and lost (PCO case), in between he controlled the media narrative via PEMRA and other ordinances.

He's also a petty and pathetic dictator. For example, referenda are conducted all over the world and tend to have the results be closely contested. For instance, the Scottish Independence referendum was lost by a 5% margin, the Brexit referendum was lost by a 2% margin, here in France the last referendum (ratification of the EU Constitution) was won by less than a 5% margin.

Only in tin pot retarded dictatorships do these thin skinned idiots rig referenda to win by 80% or 90%, as if anything less would wound their pathetic and fickle pride. I'm pleased to report that our 'statesman' Musharraf in all his glory, with little regard for the opinions of the people of Pakistan, managed to win 97.97% of the vote in 2002 referendum - a miracle befitting of a banana republic! International commentators would surely have chuckled at the result.

I personally believe the little successes that the did achieve in some projects, were largely due to him not being beholden or held hostage to the political realities that some of our democratic (so called) rulers have been and are.

He did not need to cater to unions and mafias, did not need to keep the trader voter happy, did not need to pander to everyone's needs, because he was a dictator.

So he wouldn't need to make compromised decisions just to gain political benefit. When in the end he had to do all that, we know what happened to him.

Not saying he was a good guy or a better choice, just laying it out there.

Musharraf was sucker to america. He allowed few drones attacks and handed over foreign and pakistanis to USA

While nawaz sharif and zardaris were heroes who allowed 10,000 people to die in drones and terrosim so they can get 2b$ CSF and kerry loger money

Clueless, sharif. For once.

Can not be blamed here for inheriting Mushraf s stupid war on terror disaster. Was of his own making for his handlers in Washington

Aye yeah, F the civvies, most especially the ones I don't like.

Under glorious brave commando Musharraf, much of FATA was surrendered to the TTP and they were boasting of controlling swat, bombing cities at will and collecting bhatta all the way to Attock.

He was a good stateman. Best thing people loved about him was his Macho Man kinda quality through which he always handled local or international media. He allowed private media news channels to be get initiated through which thsoe poor hand to mouth print news reporters earned fame and truck loads of income prospects. He had that massive ability to convince others during debates, to speak and influence minds of others. But there was always "discipline, order, chain of command" side of him which civil society along with the idiotic infant electronic media wasn't ready to digest easily. Some of his policies in telecom sector, higher education or steps regarding acquisition of latest military hardware were well appreciated. That 2.5 eyed judge named Ifthikhar Ch along with his judicial activisim, professional dogs in media and WOT policies led Musharraf down. Can recall the words of Sheikh Rasheed. "Kala Burqaa, Kala Camera aur Kala Coat Musharraf Sahab ko lay dobaa".

It doesn't matter what people think about him, his media presence was unmatched even till today. I had always soft side for him despite all his shortcomings.
Actually, IK matches with Musharraf on presentation, speaking, and confidence plus public rallying.

By the way, do you know who controlled drone use policy in Pakistan for the entirety of the use of drones? I hate to have to ask such a simple point, but your last post left me in doubt. It wasn't the civvies, they're far too stupid to be allowed to manage defence and foreign affairs.

Whwn you take the govt you own it

I dont. He committed crime against nation by giving the crooks NRO. The Hudabiya paper mills case was an open and shut case against Sharif family. He let them go.

For him and for military establishment, these crooks are just political toys. They use them to keep the status quo. These crooks and their crimes keep the military establishment in the game of politics. This way, establishment controls everything.
