Same parent company. Their mid size Suv are #1kia (Telluride) and #2 Hyundai( Palisades) in their class, over here in US. Toyota is introducing Grand Highlander in 2024 after losing top two spots with it’s regular Highlander in the same category.Hyundai and Kia have come a long way now. Kia is making a solid market in Australia since 2016/17 especially with 7 years warranty.
