Huawei, ZTE under EU scanner

I wish India had 1400 hour work years and people retired at 50. But you don't. Social welfare is nonexistent in India.

no you can't. how would the world survive without someone picking up the call? you rest the world office and then rest the human civilization.:rolleyes:we need resilient indians.

Europeans are lazy and rot with that. Yet it's not fair to say Germans only work 1400 hrs a year. if you ride across the Alps you will find those fat lazy Italians only work 1100 hrs a years, and most of time they are on HOLIDAYS.

.
So you should know what'll happen if the Greeks default !

What does the carbon tax have to do with this & FYI we've resisted paying that up as well !

Even if the Greeks default with our massive fx reserves we can absorb the impact alot better than india mate.

What does the carbon tax have to do with this & FYI we've resisted paying that up as well

simple the euro will ask china , you drop your stand against this carbon tax and we will drop our investigation into huwei and zte.

Lets see what our techies are seeing this matter. Following is a report about the same matter from Heise, one of the most important technology portal in Germany. What is more interesting are the comments of many experts who are involved in this material.

(vbr)

First, exploit and later sanctions?
derGott-Eik (more than 1,000 posts since 04:07:11)

Oh, typical of western capitalism.
First, decades of exploitation and cheap labor
used only where it goes. In the EU countries own their own
Subsidized firms and the most criminal of the most criminal of
State rescue packages from the "ruin" preserved, we are talking about the
Banks.
But if the Chinese want to strengthen their economy is everything
"unlawful".

Oh, you bunch of lying, hypocritical bastards in Brussels.

.
it makes sense fro europe to do this, because they have tech companies to protect. indians coming to cheer leading this.. is kinda odd? india is a pure customer. the more subsidies the better for them. this is just pure jealousy...

solyndra, GM, alca-LU, airbus, siemens, q-cells are very well know to have big government subsidies behind them. china could hit back with same tactic..

Not if they kill local industries ! Recall the rare earth trade embargo & how the EU/US threatened CN with retaliation ?

no amount of crying and whining will hide the fact that europe is totally bankrupt and most of its economies are in recession and some in depression.

the more protectionism they use against us, we will retaliate and it will hurt their economies even more.
they need to export to get out of the recession and china is the fastest growing consumer market and 3rd largest consumer market. if they lose access to our markets by denying our companies access to their markets, they will be in this depression for a very long time.

Oh yeah that market which fakes every thing western and sell it at 1/10 th the price. Yup big market indeed.

just german cars and apple, not counting others. you get the idea how big the market is

- BMW sold 373,613 (+31.1%) vehicles in Asia during 2011. Of these, 232,586 (+37.6%) BMW Group vehicles were sold in China. China thus became BMW’s third most important market after the USA (305,418 cars) and Germany (297,438 cars).

- Germany’s top luxury car producer, Mercedes Benz, also had a record year in China in 2011. Mercedes Benz sales in China increased to 193,339 (+30,6%). China is thus Mercedes Benz’s third most important market, after Germany (262,256) and the USA (245,231).

- Volkswagen had a very good year world wide with sales of 5.1 million (+13.1%) cars. Volkswagen had a record year in China selling more than 1.72 (+13.8%) cars in 2011, more than double the number of VW cars sold in Germany.

- Audi car sales in China 2011 reached a new record high with 313,036 (+37%) new cars sold in China and Hong Kong. China has thus become Audi’s most important market in the world. In comparison, Audi sold 250,708 cars in Germany in 2011.

The European Union is set to launch a major trade case against China's biggest telecom equipment makers, arguing that they have benefited from illegal government subsidies, the Financial Times said.

The EU told member states it had been gathering evidence for an anti-dumping case against Huawei Technologies and ZTE, saying that they had obtained illegal government subsidies and sold products in the EU below cost, the newspaper said, quoting unidentified EU officials and executives.

Once the EU determined that China was acting illegally, Huawei and ZTE, the world's No.2 and No.5 telecom equipment makers, could be subject to punitive EU tariffs, the FT said.

ZTE declined comment, while Huawei had no immediate comment.

Huawei and ZTE compete globally in the telecom equipment business with European vendors such as Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and Siemens-Nokia.

Earlier in May, the EU's Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said the EU was planning new trade defences to counter subsidies and dumping by trading partners, such as China.

China is the European Union's second biggest trading partner after the United States and the bloc is China's biggest trade partner, with trade between the two forecast to hit a record high of 500 billion euros ($397 billion) this year.

But the relationship is tense. De Gucht has in the past complained that China subsidies "nearly everything", making it hard to compete.

Sounds very normal news, no big deal.
