The way the handling of the F-35 with Turkish diplomacy was not good lets be quite frank Erdogan is an idiot but the Americans are no angels either at end of the day I think Turkey should be happy with the S-400 purchase and in long run open to get advanced 5th gen aircraft SU-57 with local production

Pakistan only got those F-16s back in the 1980s when the US wanted to use the Soviet quagmire in Afghanistan and we got ton of aid and military equipment once the Soviets packed bags in 1989 the US passed the Pressler Amendment restricting arms sales to Pakistan the other F-16s ordered and being repaired in the 90s were held by the Americans and prolly scrap metal at this point in the Mojave Desert point is the US is only "ally" when their interests are aligned for a time being when thats up good luck with strings attached.Another reason why Pakistan ended up going with Chinese regarding the JF-17 aircraft and arms sales

S-400 was equally a response to the US in the aftermath of the CIA/Pentagon-backed Gulenist coup d'etat against Turkish democracy, as well as American support for terrorists (PKK/YPG) and Greek/Israeli drilling in the East Mediterranean while violating Turkish EEZ rights. It was a necessary purchase to send a strong message as the US has been making too many moves against Turkey.
