How Turkey got LUCKY with the F-35?

.
. .
@xenon54 You're missing the point here. F-35 isn't so expensive because it's "the best". It's expensive because Lockheed Martin knows the US government will approve whatever price they charge and no one will refuse to pay and the US public won't question it.

It's an absolute blessing for Turkey to NOT get this overpriced lemon. Canadians are lucky too to have leaders with the foresight to quit the F-35 program. I wish all the other "F-35 sucker customers" the same sort of leaders.

21 trillion is this year's budget times 30....so they lost their entire budget from 2019.....times 30?
Read the damn Forbes link.

I did....they state things....I'm asking again....how can they spend 21 trillion $ when their budget is 650 billion per year?

Same happens in Turkey too with the difference that we have no product to show off unfortunately.
Wth,didnt they show pictures,maquettes,films,simulations?
Not enough for you?
You just wait,in three years(2023) you'll see the product!

Im not even talking about TFX but things like Altay that could have been produced years ago already but still arent being produced because of corruption while costing billions.

Altay,what is that?
Oh i get it,the MBT they said was to expensive if built by Otokar($13 million pp) who built the four prototypes and has the experience and capacity do it.
I read somewhere that they gave the tender to BMC owned by a BFF of Erdogan,it would be cheaper(only $18 million pp,oops) and the first batch of 250 pieces would start being delivered in two years(2021).
Yeah forget that,not gonna happen.

.
OUR mistakes? What the FVCK are you talking about?

Was it Turkey's mistake that the US fired 2 missiles on TCG Muavenet killing over a dozen Turks?
Was it Turkey's mistake to rescue Turkish Cypriots in 1974 with the US subsequently embargoing us for years?
Was it Turkey's mistake that the US, after traveling half way around the world, put sacks on our Special Forces guys in our own backyard? (Cuval Olayi)
Is it Turkey's mistake that the US harbors Gulenists in Pennsylvania and used them to organize a coup attempt on July 15, 2016? Much like they did in previous US/NATO coups in Turkey?
Is it Turkey's mistake that the US supports, trains and arms the PKK/YPG in Iraq and Syria, an terrorist organization that even the US recognizes but helps regardless because it kills Turks?
Is it Turkey's mistake that US companies don't recognize Turkey's and Turkish Cypriot EEZ and instead work with the Greeks because they're easier to buy off?

Our mistake? Eh? No. Maybe YOUR mistake. Not mine. Not any Turk's. Only those who pretend to be Turks.
S.kt.r et üstad bunların bazıları müstemlekeci (mandacı, istimlakçı, efendisi için emanetçi) zevat zaten. F35i Türkiye için savunan bu ülkenin aklı başında olan evladı olamaz.

Altay,what is that?

Give your document for your claims as official figures for MBT Altay. The topic is constantly moving away from its purpose, BC you are constantly politicizing the issue in an absurd way.

So when people favour F-35 they become enemies of state but when you cheer for S-400 you are a patriot?

Can the US spy on F-35 users? Yes.
Can Russia do the same with S-400? :agree:

We could get the 30 signed F-35, stay in the project, become the maintenence hub for engines... and cash $12 billion. Or pay $2.5 billion for a Russian system without ToT and probably not include it in national radar network.

.
Maybe I am uninformed, but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that this project is a failure. The F-35 was designed to be not a "dog fighter" but a jet that could take out enemy aircraft hundreds of kilometers away. I believe that the fighter, with its stealth capabilities, is not designed to be anything like the F-16. The days of fighters like F-16 are over. I think the F-35 has avionics, radars, EW and missiles that no other nation has at the moment.

I dont know how a more agile or manoeuvrable aircraft could dance in front of the F-35 when it would be shot down without even seeing the F-35.

Anyone who knows a bit more about the F-35 or the comparable systems with China or Russia, please enlighten me.

We do not fully trust Russia. We will use the S400s as an interim solution until we produce our own air defense. And the cost is $ 2.2 billion. It doesn't total $ 30 billion. As the cost of the Turkey's F35's.

Some of my Turkish brothers are pissed on not getting F-35s but here is a story I will tell you.

Pakistan received its first F16 from USA in gen zia Era to fight Soviets. Soon soviet union broke and cold War ended and an American ally Pakistan became useless and was forgotte. USA had achieved the undisputed status of only superpower in the world. The new Russia was a strong country but not a huge threat other than containing it diplomatically. USA had set its eyes to play dirty politics else where in the world. USA kept on supporting Pakistan in military hardware and many here thought USA was still an ally but to support Pakistan was a strategy to maintain balance of power in sub continent. But this balance of power in subcontinent was maintained not to help Pakistan get stronger but to break away India from Russia. The weaponry of USA was juicy and good and India felt the need to approach USA and shit its focus from Russia. Many Indians think that it was successful diplomacy of their govt but no it was what USA wanted India to do. USA made India feel that India needs USA more than Russia and India walked down the lane of uncle Sam's ally to praise close relation with India USA stopped Pakistani F16 order. Pakistan struggled for few years like turkey is doing with F-35s. Then 9/11 happened and once again Pakistan became important and a needed ally but Pakistan had learned its lesson and was shifting its weapons supply to China. That F-16 embargo which India think that it lobby achieved made Pakistan persue and independent fighter jet policy. The best location was eastern Europe. The very union which Pakistan destroyed with help of USA had the answer for Pakistans fighter jet problem but getting jet designs is one thing and having a industrial production capability is something totally different a nation in its infancy still struggling to shift from an agri economy and searching for its industrial revolution Pakistan looked towards China. China at this point was becoming the work horse of the world. A form of modern day slavery. West found cheap labour in China very yummy and were shifting their production and technological capabilities there so among this jungle of technology Pakistan found a small spot in a relatively unknown aviation company. Pakistan funded $500 million to avic to get a design and prototype of super 7 or FC-1 the father of JF-17 the design was legendary already known for it capability and the result was game changer for subcontinent. Today JF-17 is the back bone and work horse of many Airforce around the world.

Moral of the story. When one door is shut on you Allah pak opens 100 other doors. Don't give up and persue your desire you will achieve it.

Mashallah Turkey is a nation that much advance in its industrial capabilities and technology. Turkey can achieve what has been restricted from it much easier than Pakistan. Many technologies required to make a FGFA are already available with in turkey only little more is need. Just like Pakistan gave the worst competition to F16 Turkey will give worst competition to F-35. USA will regret blocking those F-35s.

The F35 is the flying coffin for us. Aside from all the other exaggerated features and our free contribution to the US arms industry as suckers.

Turkey ordered only 30 F-35, 120 were planned... the 30 aircrafts would ~ cost as much as S-400.
(further maintenance costs and flight hours not included).
