To begin with, I do not uphold the views that VIP culture should persist. But at the same time, taking decision into hands can lead to a bad consequence. It may not be at that time, but in the future it certainly fools the people. Such was the case in recent PK-306 flight (of which there is a thread posted here and many users are found chanting "end to VIP."

There was video, and that was it only. On one video we decided to base our views upon. We refused to see that that specific flight is always delayed. Taking a closer look, at this page: Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIA) (PK) #306 ✈ FlightAware we can see that over the past week, the flight has never once departed at the scheduled time.

Furthermore, a person from the same flight posted a different story that is being portrayed in the video:

I was on that flight PK-306 A-310 at 19:00 flew at 20:15 captain announced two times and third time at around 19:45 that Cargo is delayed due to Ground transfer vehicle got burst on way and will be transported by other vehicle I again mention "CARGO" and not Luggage of VIP "As it can be of HAJJ passengers of connecting flight" that was my thought and to give space to my fellow countrymen who perform Hajj also to Understand that PIA is these days in a special flight routine, passengers are himself to blame specially the one lead the mob he was the last person to enter the plane I don't know what they wanted to achieve with thinking by himself that might is right and forcing other to follow without realizing that other than 30 the whole plane was sitting patiently and thinking what they are upto, The way this Idiot is forcing "Kholo Darwaza" can be done by any HiJackers .

The crew was nice to give water when everyone settle down earlier to their seat when the door was closed & after this incident even then people wanted something out of this and to expand negative energy by posting this video I was also surprised with full dinner was served on the flight as the flight was earlier mentioned without meal.

If PIA wanted to go ahead in a court of law against those passengers I wanted to be a witness against those people They "Terrorized"

Aroosh Naqvi was also on this flight many PIA ex senior captains were there witnessing.

Air Conditioner was perfectly fine and finally on landing at Lahore I clapped for Head Purser and his team to keep their moral high

Delayed flights of PIA is a regular occurrence. Looking at Pakistan Int. Airlines aircraft list - Flightradar24 page, we can view the delay times of specific planes. Now although we do see some planes arriving nearly on time, we must take note of departure time, which is almost never on time. This means the pilot has to use a higher speed or whatnot to make it to the gate on time or as close as possible. Here is a good example: AP-BHV - Pakistan Int. Airlines - Aircraft info and flight history - Flightradar24 This plane has not once over the past 15 flights departed on time. So do we say that there is some VIP man who loves this airplane and is the reason behind delay? No.

Whatever happened, happened. But for the future, we need to remain calm and not pin every PIA delay on "VIP" and take matter into our hands. If some people refuse, PIA can very likely be barred from international flights as what is happening can be deemed as hijacking (passengers being in charge of it). No country would like allow an airplane to land with regular hijackings.

The video for the curious:

For once this POTIAN agrees with this Nooni guy :) Fight against VIP culture doesn't mean every delayed flight is because of a VIP!

You are wrong in many ways.

You're not a potian, as you've said. I'm not a nooni, as I've not voted them (Defending democracy doesn't make anyone a nooni). It's not the first time you agreed with me, I've made you agree with me also on that Australia, despite huge provinces, has awesome HDI and thus we need local elections more than additional provinces.

But I appreciate your agreement with what I've said.

It's not about not knowing difference between then and than, but about understanding what is being said.

He called me nooni and then you came in and said "you're wrong, he is Nooni"

if you knew what he said, you wouldn't have said the same thing.

My uncle who works at an Islamabad airport told me that when a flight is delayed for any reason, VIPs often stay in the first class waiting area until they are told that the flight is ready to depart. Why would a VIP board an airplane when he knows that the flight is delayed for half an hour.

I am sure some of you have traveled from business class and you know very well that there is a separate waiting lounge for business class/first class passengers where they are served food, beverages and get to watch tv or use internet. When the flight is delayed, they are told so they could wait in the lounge instead of crowding in the airplane.

We need to be logical here guys. What I just wrote is something that I was told by a seasoned airport staff member (my uncle) who has been working at islamabad and other airports for the last 30 years.

In rehman malik's case, when he arrived at the airport, he was told about the flight being delayed. So he decided to stay at the business class lounge until the airplane gets the green signal. Once the airplane received the green signal, rehman malik heads towards his jet where an angry mod started bashing him for holding up the aircraft.

Good riddance! :D
