How Japan getting caught in the dilemma between the US/Russia conflict

I don't see anything humorous about this, and it's not a matter of Dirty Harry blowing away the bad guys in righteous anger. Chinese blood isn't so cheap that CCP leadership would sacrifice millions (or tens of millions) of Chinese lives to sate a desire for revenge against Japan.

MAD works as a deterrent because the use of nuclear weapons will be met in kind.
Our offensive and defensive nuclear capabilities painstakingly acquired over the course of decades since 1967, coupled with our vast strategic depth and population means few if any countries can possibly win or even survive a nuclear exchange with us. Your hypothetical "turn-key" Japan densely concentrated in pockets on their volcanic island with absolutely no experience deploying a strategic capability will certain not be much contest for us :disagree:

Picture can speak a thousand words. Just the reality of the things depict perfectly.

One of the best political caricatures ever made, yet somebody still chose to bash it, so it is either based on the ignorance or they simply don't want to see the reality.

Nobody understands these Japanese more than we do.

Abe has tried so hard to cozy up with Putin, and now all the hard work has been turned into null thanks to their papa USA.

That's hitting below the belt, @ChineseTiger1986 . Why are you making such a heartless comment like that? Please don't joke around such a way...
Most of Chinese in cities area like him, no weird ... you fell, you got hit, you are in trouble ... etc >>> it's your problems, solve it by yourself ... Yue Yue story is good example.

Obviously American foreign policy is designed to further America's own interests, why should they care of it negatively impacts their vassals.
really? Where is the USA interests? I cannot see it. The USA foreign policy must be made by Hongkong angry teenages.

Now USA is bombing both sides in Syria. Is USA ever so stupid? I can assert, Hillary is done in volt 2016.

next President would be Republican

China must have a nuclear arsenal of 5,000 warheads with nuclear triads. Then get rid of the no-first-use nuclear policy.

Large nuclear weapons arsenal with triads is the ultimate deterrence. Chinese leadership has been too naive to concentrate on the conventional weaponry and not giving nuclear weapons first priority. Conventional military isn't a big enough cost to the US to intervene in Asian conflicts.

From a cartoon to nuclear war.

I love this forum.

ahahahahhaha....i was thinking the same thing. Sometimes i really enjoy reading comments on here tbh, it really cracks me up.
If not how do you explain how someone can go from discussion about relations between Russia-Japan-U.S-China to Nuclear war/anninhilation of Japan by chinese 'Hyper sonic nuclear missiles/war heads'.

I am quite surprised to see you contemplate this option. Japan is a turn-key nuclear power already, and developing nuclear weapons is a relatively trivial technical step for Japan, as it already has sufficient stocks of plutonium and highly enriched uranium. Such an attack would be meaningless in terms of stopping a potential Japanese nuclear program, and of course would alienate vast numbers of countries.

Besides, do you think Japan would not retaliate militarily? What about its treaty ally, the US? How would other powers in the region react? Too many unknowns for China to act in such a reckless manner.

In truth, China's practical leadership would likely do nothing more than issue harsh rhetoric, like it did with its proxies North Korea and Pakistan. War, and potentially nuclear war, is a risk to the CCP's hold on power; and the CCP's hold on power is the CCP's highest priority.

I couldn't have said it better. In fact not just China, but in all communist one party states, the Party comes before/is above the Nation. its the case with North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Cuba and all other communist countries.:bounce:

Hey the Russians sent fighter bombers pretty much causing tensions with Japan. Don't need the U.S. to do that for Russia.

They've been doing that since the cold war. And their presence is met with the arrival of a squadron of JASDF F-15Js.
