The suicides in Foxconn is on par with the national norm. It was blown up by the western medias in a propaganda term called 'selective reporting'. Hey, they can easily write about a young lady being so thankful for working there too. Of course, they'll say that's not their jobs.

Foxconn is by no means a great place to work. It is in fact a horrible place to work.

The conditions are tiring, you have to be disciplined, there's very few opportunities to advance and the entire company is like a private fiefdom run by Mr. Gou.

It is not involuntary however and anyone can leave any time they want. This is proven by the 5% turnover rate.
