How different a Bengali Muslim is from a Pakistani Muslim?

I read in PDF that Bengalis are way different from Pakistanis. I wonder how different are Bengalis compared to Pakistanis? Isn't Pakistan itself a multi ethnic country with several different cultures? Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtun, Baloch, Tribal culture etc.

Very very very different, both ethnically, culturally, linguistically, physically, in every single way - only similarity is religion. Pakistanis are very devoute, dont know about BDians.

We have differences, we hate each other but at the time of difficulty we become a single force. A green force.

According to my friends who worked in GCC .Pakistani Muslims are tall ,well built and goodlooking .Bangladeshi Muslims are short ,well built , dark and not that good looking .I dont know if these is right.This is my friends opinion.

Their similarity is that they have same religion.

I would beg to differ on Pakistanis being devout. We have a long way to go in terms of our understanding and practice. And who are we to judge whether we are better than anyone else in terms of piety. The fact that you believe that you are better than someone else and seem so sure about it makes your own devoutness questionable.

Bangladeshis are indeed different from Pakistanis, but I would not go as far as saying "very, very, very" different. There are cultural and linguistic differences, but there are many similarities too. We have a turbulent common history, which artificially amplifies the differences. But the fact is that as a people, the ties that bind us together are far stronger than the differences that separate us.

I have prayed in Bangladesh Masjid alot of time and I am friends with some of them in our local community ..
The first thing our religion thought us was not to discriminate due to color , race or wealth ..

Your "friend" is a small minded individual. "Good looking" is very subjective. And generalizations are not always helpful. There are short and dark Pakistanis, and there are tall and light skinned Bangladeshis. So what.

Buddy ,This is not about narrow minded approach.Of Course Good looking is very subjective .
But for average guys ,they will look your size ,colour ,face features.It is their opinion and freedom.
Fact is I dont know ,I didnt visit GCC until now.But our friends have same opinion.And all of them are highly paid professionals.

They also said another reality .BDis dont have good opinion about Pakistanis .

I have seen alot of Bangladeshi people wanted to visit Pakistan and Pakistani wanted to visit Bangladesh.

We were brothers and the only thing which i hate is it doesn't matter how much your brother is keeping you away from the wealth or resources , you do not go to common enemy for support ..
Our leaders of that time could have agreed on separate things out and keeping the few very few things common, but that didnt happen ..
When i saw a cricket Match b/w India and Pakistan in Bangladesh and public was supporting Pakistan and even i saw a teenager changing shirts and asked few Pakistani people to give Pakistani Green shirts to them (which they gave), i have a hope when common sense prevail we will come to common something ... its just a matter of time...

You subject of the thread says in all....I think Pakistan Muslims proud to be only Muslims as their identity...but if i am not wrong, Bengali Muslims like to associate themselves as Bengali and Muslim identity together...I may be wrong too..

No offence meant but today marks 44 years since Bengalis Muslims separated from Pakistani Muslims.

Isnt it strange that you need to ask this question after these 44 years.
