AAP is not the only way to end corrupution , Modi is also known to curtail corruption and increase efficiency of the system. Plus the anti-elitist and anti-capitalist neo-socialist or probably communist mindset of AAP can be a huge impediment to the growth and prosperity of this country. BJP as of now is the safer bet , I;ll go with corruption free pro growth and development BJP rather than fanatically socialist AAP.
More the merrier ....parties like AAP will bring value and intellectual debate to the Democratic crusade against Corruption.
I am neither Pro Modi or Pro Kejriwal.
But we all can see the emergence of AAP has changed the course of politics in Delhi ....and for better reasons .
Have you heard of it before ....the single largest party refusing to form government just because it has no necessary numbers ???
I think we have to give some credit to AAP for that ...
I believe in resilience and flexibility any Democratic system offers in this sense ...
The emeregence of AAP validates our hope in democracy ...
People have punished the oldest and largest national party and has favoured a new and largely unknown , insignificant party ...
why are we overlooking this great phenomenon ...
the value that AAP beings to democratic debate is immense ....
we really don't have to worry about the so called Socialistic extremism of AAP ...
we tolerated diverse political parties such as CPI , Shiv Sena , BJP and so on ....
same questions were raised against BJP ....once !
today BJP forms main anti-Congress opposition in India ....
despite so called Right wing agenda of BJP ...
have n't we seen BJP adapting to national belief system ....?
are we underestimating the strength of our Democratic system ....
I believe, in times when people are becoming cynical about politics ....Victory of AAP represents the victory of Hope over cynicism and hopelessness !!!
Thats how degradation starts. Arvind is relatively new to Indian politics and hence starting with a clean slate on all issues. he also has an opportunity to bring in fresh thoughts. Now if he too starts being a populist, i'm afraid he'll never be able to solve several issues AAP has promised.
In democracy ...Populism can't be termed as vice altogether ...
I absolutely understand what you are trying to point at ...and I partly agree with that ...
But in democracy some sort of populism is unavoidable ....because it necessarily has to reflect wishes of majority....
One has to forge right balance between these mutually competing interests .....
I mean what majority wishes and demands ....need not be necessarily socially , ethically , scientifically correct ....
This is the biggest drawback of Democracy ....because it necessarily works with principle of majority.
If majority fools agree then they can win against few sane minority voices ...
.But democracy allows those minority voices to be heard and debated ....there is scope for change of majority opinion by this dialogue ...
since we have adopted democracy...we will have to work within limitations of such system....
