What would be an effective way to even it out?

Well having the rich pay a better share of their spoils would be a nice one for starters.

But this is easier said than done...

I can't imagine how many Bentleys and Lamborghinis ride around in Bangladesh today, but you can bet most of these folks' loans with the banks are far from settled...living high on the hog on other people's money and this is all legal...

They can flaunt their money with impunity because our check and balance mechanism is absent, in this case we have to admit we in Bangladesh are far worse than in India.

.
And those seventeen rich Indians (as well as their cohorts overseas) are crass enough to trumpet their lifestyles in media on a regular basis - so the rest of us think that being filthy rich, sucking the livelihoods out of millions of poor folks, taking advantage of them at every opportunity and being proud of it - is just routine stuff!

Same story in Bangladesh as well...

There is no difference.

আপনাদের তিরিশ বছরের জায়গায় যদি সত্তর বছরের হিসাব নেন তবে তফাৎ কোথায়?

Have you written off the others and couldn't care less about them? Do you still want to help them get out of their narrow, blinkered thinking and think of the greater good of humanity?

I have not written off many of the others. I have tried, apart from posting on PDF. :)

A society should focus on development rather than ideology. Once developed(rich) enough it is much easier to implement welfare policies to take care of the poors.

Getting rich takes time in most cases. What until then ??

Progressive and leak-proof taxes on the richest;
Good. However taxing them more just because they earn more isn't a solution. Tax them justly and make sure they pay it or face fines or prison sentence. Sometimes you also need to give them tax breaks to encourage investments.
  • Ensuring three square meals a day and minimal housing and clothing for the poorest;
  • Skilling of the poor to enable them to earn their living;
Best way to do this is to generate employment. It has to be step by step. It's a continuous struggle. There is no magic involved unless you discover huge amount of oil.

Start low with garments factories. Some garments owners will get extremely rich but workers will remain poor. But working in garments is still much better than being unemployed. Then garments owners will open more factories. Maybe a steel or a cement factory. They will need some engineers then.

Skilling won't come automatically. You will have to create a situation where your rich feels confident to pursue a new sector. Give tax breaks for some industries. Once a new sector starts doing well, you will see skilling process starting. Tax burdens sometimes discourage these.

Govt in this part of the world is corrupt and inefficient. Allowing open market to dictate economy without govt interventions is likely to yield better results.

wow a rare sight, an Indian sharing the realities of India on this forum. I guess the banned all the other types who come here only for boasting and stuff.

True about the seventy and thirty years of Independence, no difference. The rich keep getting richer and the poor, poorer.

I am a big fan of Haider Hussain as well.

I am sure you probably also know about Shayan. Her lyrics are amazingly bold on criticizing the politicians and the rich, don't know if she herself is the songwriter though...

And now it is up to some Pakistanis - do uphold the reality of Pakistan as well....

No offense of course...

Concrete on it and try to do it as fast as possible. You will be able to implement some welfare policies when you are at middle income.

Indians have been doing that from the word 'go'.

Do you live in a cave, and have you just emerged into the light?

I got a mild laugh out of your undoubtedly excellent post. Do read up on quotas on garment exports, and how India was disqualified (quite correctly, in my opinion) in favour of Bangladesh. We do happen to have a couple of garments factories; also some steel factories and cement factories.

@Nilgiri

এই খোকাটারে কোথায় ধরস, গুরুদেব আমার?

I used garments as an example. It could be any low level industry which doesn't require much technical skill.

India,Pakistan and Bangladesh should have a ''one child'' policy first.

No need as Bangladesh's fertility rate is barely above replacement level. India's going the same route.
Bangladesh govt encouraged couples to have not more than two children for decades. Also promoted use of condoms. These had very good effect. No need to have a law to limit people's freedom of reproducing.

LOL. And here we go they coming back to their original instincts. "Ohh we have always been doing it".

May be you are the one who is blind enough to not see the threads. Supa powa india, Shinning India, Glorious India, Look a great statue no wonder India numba 1. LOL

Btw, do quote me a thread on extreme poverty in India, created by an Indian. Or do quote me a thread about toilet situation in India, or a thread about malnutrition of kids in India (you can't say the same for us because our PM talks about it all the time). All I see is retards full of ego, who think India is some sort of super power while Pakistan is just a shitty country, ignoring the fact that India's GDP per capita is almost the same as Pakistan's GDP per capita. haha funny pretty pretty pretty funny.

We can sustain our population. Same could be said about India, but population in Bangladesh needs control. But if they control it too hard, they would lack the young work force after a couple of decades.

Just look at the size of Bangladesh and it's population is 170 M.
Pakistan has about 205 M population.
India has 1.34 B population. (figures just top of my head, you can google the exact figures but I think numbers wouldn't be much different)

What you saw in the video was due to lack of wealth equality/distribution. It's not just the population that's the issue. You see China doing just fine with it's massive population.

Heh. Looks like you are still smarting from something or the other. When you calm down, and get over your various little cuts and grazes, do tell us about it.

May be you are the one who is blind enough to not see the threads. Supa powa india, Shinning India, Glorious India, Look a great statue no wonder India numba 1. LOL

Actually, I haven't. I have no time for trash. But I am curious to read some of these. Can you show me some of these?

Do you seriously want to see a forum with 100% concentration on these subjects? I ask because all the attention and energy of very many Pakistanis, on a Pakistani forum, with surely subjects of their own to discuss, get down to these discussions; any posts by Indians themselves are quite redundant, with you and your friends around :enjoy:

All I see is retards full of ego, who think India is some sort of super power while Pakistan is just a shitty country, ignoring the fact that India's GDP per capita is almost the same as Pakistan's GDP per capita. haha funny pretty pretty pretty funny.

While you are busy convincing the world that you are not obsessed with the subject, with a sentence like your last one, you might find some benefit after you calm down from your frenzied attack of humour if you figure out that your seeing might be at fault. Maybe you see what you want to see.:D
