ISLAMABAD: National Commission for Minorities (NCM) chairman Chela Ram Kewalani has said that members of the Hindu minority community, who have migrated from Pakistan to India, now want to return due to gross human rights violations in the neighbouring country.
Chairing the sixth meeting of the commission here on Wednesday, he urged India to stop persecution of religious minorities.

He observed that the issues faced by religious minorities in Pakistan had to be addressed by the state and the commission would play its role in this regard.
“We have to work together with all stakeholders and authorities concerned to protect the places of worship of all minorities in the country,” Mr Kewalani said, adding “protection of the minorities is the state’s responsibility”.

Delhi urged to stop suppressing farmers’ protest
The meeting condemned persecution of protesting Sikh farmers by the Indian government and the commission members noted that India claimed to be the largest democracy in the world, but the religious minorities and even low caste Hindus had always been deprived of their rights there.
“India should stop violating human rights. We have reports from the Hindus who had migrated from Pakistan to India that they want to return to the home country due to human rights violations, discriminations, mistreatment and massive crime against women and children there,” Mr Kewalani said.
The meeting was informed that members of the commission led by its chairman had visited the Sadhu Bella Ashram in Sukkur, Sindh, and met the administration. They observed that the building and other infrastructure of the ashram was in dilapidated condition.
The meeting unanimously recommended that the agencies concerned take necessary steps for early repair of the ashram.

The participants of the meeting said that it was also their responsibility to help eliminate negative propaganda against Pakistan at the international level.

During a discussion on the draft National Minorities Commission Bill 2020, the meeting was told that detailed consultation with all stakeholders was underway and following it the draft bill would be forwarded to the federal cabinet for approval.

The participants said that the minorities would be granted their rights in the country according to Quaid-i-Azam’s vision and the constitution of Pakistan.
They said that the commission would use its capabilities to promote inter-faith harmony in the country.

Not a single one of these terrorists and terrorist sympathizers must ever be allowed back.

Pakistan has a real problem with radical Hindu terrorists living within our borders and this has been ongoing since independence lest we forget the Pakistani National Congress.

They're animals who have no love or loyalty to Pakistan, they were more than happy to support a nation that is at war with ours and has sought to murder our women and children.

I have no sympathy, get them out and keep them out.

No country ever was built and made great by appeasing its minorities. Islam is pretty tolerant regarding religious minorities, give them those rights but not more. Pakistan is an Islamic country and our libtard liberals demand from us West-Pakistanis (you see what I did there?) to endorse gay marriage, alcoholism and "cuties", but at the same the don't want to integrate into our Muslim society. Hypocrisy much?

It's not like that they went to Europe to have a better life and stuff they went to India, a hostile country with an hostile religion, maybe to act as principal witness against Pakistan. And now they want to come back? Pakistan reminds me of the second Mughal emperor Humayun: always be nice and forgiving even if the whole world is against you. This is not healthy even in personal relationships and on a state level we should also act like this? NO!

These should never be allowed back. Ever. They made their choice, live with it. I just hate how spineless and weak this government is
We lack confidence in our foreign and domestic policy. We want to be liked by everybody but this is not possible ("What will the Goras think when we do this and that?"). Where is our pride as Muslims and Pakistanis?

A friend to everyone is a friend to no one!

Its never too late. Arrangements should be made for those Pakistanis. At the same time government should look into why this happened at the first place.

These Hindus belonged to really poor/under developed areas of Pakistan such as Deserts in Sindh. They need to be empowered.

I have rarely heard news regarding Pakistani hindus, let alone anything negative from them.

People here need a reality check. Minorities are definitely suppressed in Interior Sindh, only the Southern area, and urban centres are free from this discrimination in Sindh.

On one side, these people are not given the guarantee of state's security of their life and religion, and on the other hand they're extremely poor. What other choice could they have?

If your concern for them is their 'loyalty,' you need to realize that when you maybe earn and live off with your family with a 100 a day, your least concern is being 'loyal' to some state, and most concern with surviving!

Seems like people here have lost sense of being human.

those few brainwashed hindu families who left for milk and honey land must not allowed to come back.

By that logic, half of the Pakistanis on this forum should revoke their citizenship (already some boast about their dual citizenship), why do you think they went abroad.

There's in fact a bigger distinction between. They went by necessity, and people on here went to Europe not by necessity, but for milk and honey!

They did a lot of damage when they left and this was fully exploited by their delusional media. I'd say this should be looked at carefully, they have no loyalty whatsoever, and now with their 'brothers' rejecting them have no where to turn, so are trying to head back.
There's also an issue of them being compromised by RAW.
That being said special cases should be given priority, but this whole sale return with fireworks isn't right.

You're demanding loyalty from people who live in extreme poverty, with no guarantee of state protection, comcerned with surviving, with their luxury being thr basic necessities of life.

You must be out of your mind.

The only damage done was by us when we couldn't bring law to these lawless areas, not by them for leaving such areas where their religion and life is under threat.

I am sure one day you will also get a fancy Schengen visa to be proud of. Meanwhile you can try to become a 50% Turk. That's what proud Pakistanis do.

Pakistanis who left for Europe have strong ties with Pakistan and are the source of remmitances worht billions of dollars and we visit Pakistan regurarily. Those Hindus are used as propaganda tools against Pakistan. Big fat difference.

Very true, I have seldom seen Pakistanis who are expats forsake their fatherland. These guys clearly did so running to Pakistan's only enemy.
