Hindus who migrated to India want to return to Pakistan, says NCM chief

The following are reasons we should consider the return of the minorities to Pakistan.
Ironically, there is a precedent ( in our "friendly neighbor next door " ) though not exactly the same and times have changed drastically :
Let's look at the precedent.

Hostile populations are sometimes invited back
Muslims fleeing communal violence from India's eastern provinces had settled in what was then East Pakistan. In 1972 this population of Pakistani citizens became refugees twice in one generation, in what is now Bangladesh. For the brief duration of India's military presence in Bangladesh, it was duty bound as an occupation force to maintain law and order and protect all civilians ( Ref; The Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (Fourth Geneva Convention) of 12 August 1949.)

India was getting a lot of international criticism in its initial failure to prevent the killing of Pakistanis. India moved the small surviving civilian Pakistani population into refugee camps, which it could only protect as long as it was in occupation. Though technically not India's responsibility, any further massacres following India's withdrawal would have been pinned on India resulting in more international condemnation. Fearing a bloodbath in the wake of its withdrawal, India quietly offered this stranded Pakistani population the "Right of Return" to India, to areas they had left 25 years earlier. India did risk inducting a resentful population back into India, but the offer immediately quelled the risk of a wholesale massacre in Bangladesh. The government of Bangladesh waited hoping the Pakistanis would leave one way or another..
With a firmly secular government in power India was confident that it would eventually win over this relatively small population, and assimilate them back into the Indian Muslim population.
The offer was largely ignored and Pakistanis preferred to continue living in refugee camps awaiting a repatriation to Pakistan.
Some Pakistanis used this opportunity to transit through India via Nepal to Pakistan.,

Return of Minorities into Pakistan
.

Here is another precedent.
The Buddhist Chakma population of the Chittagong Hill Tracts were under special protection as a minority, when that territory was part of East Pakistan.
In 1971 fearing the loss of special privileges if the civil war resulted in a secession, a small force of Chakma militants fought alongside Pakistan.
Following the establishment of Bangladesh the Chakmas were on the loosing side. They suffered much in post-war reprisals, resulting in a displacement of their population mostly into Myanmar and later into some heavily forested areas of India.
Pakistan did offer the Chakmas asylum (as best as it could), and a small community of Chakmas loyal to Pakistan escaped via Myanmar, and were repatriated into (West) Pakistan.
The leader of the Chakma fighters Raja Tridev Roy went on to serve as a Federal minister in the Pakistan government, and held several diplomatic and ambassador posts in his long career. During his lifetime Raja Tridev spoke vociferously in defense of his people and highlighted their plight at international forums.
The issue of the return of minorities to Pakistan today has no direct relevance to the precedents above , other than the fact that Pakistan has accepted the return of minority populations in the past.
Those events did produce a small benefit to the international image of both India and Pakistan. India's success in preventing the massacre of Pakistani civilians boosted its international image. Likewise
Pakistan's championship of the Chakma cause through Raja Tridev Roy helped put pressure on Bangladesh to stop massacres of the Chakmas.
Both nations took risks in allowing minorities in. Pakistan was unsure if the Chakmas would maintain their loyalty given the fact that the Bengali Chakma rivalry was beginning to take on a Muslim Buddhist communal overtones, which India could have exploited, but didn't.
The case for the return of minorities today :

Today, allowing Pakistan's minorities back into Pakistan is required because of the following:
- Allowing a minority to return to their native land in safety and honor is a humane act.

The argument for the return of Pakistan's minorities is as sound as the argument for the safe return and rehabilitation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.

- This action will have intense political ramifications in India where beating on the issue of Pakistan's treatment of its minorities is an important tool in the Hindutva agenda of the fascist regime in power.
- False enemy propaganda has placed Pakistan on the wrong side of the Religious Freedom Index and
such actions will be noticed by the global community and improve Pakistan's international standing.

Not just poverty alone. If your children are at the risk of being kidnapped and forcefully converted and married at ages below 18 validated by corrupt courts, then the first thing you would want to do is get the **** out.

So since they are back they want their children converted?

the important thing is they have equal rights to everyone else, and they do not face any organised discrimination
No none muslim Pakistani can become head of state. Not even COAS, Navy chief or air chief (though constitution doesn't bar it). There was a statement in Sindh assembly by a member that 5000 hindus are leaving the country on annual basis and the reasons were pretty much the same as i mentioned before. We are trying to make things better for minorities but lets be real that they do not enjoy the equal rights in Pakistan.

So the government of Sindh should try its best to be a good government for those Pakistan not going anywhere.

No need to appease Hindus. If they want to live somewhere else so be it, it’s not the the Duty of the government to make everybody happy.

Give them rights, treat them well, I am not saying to kick them all out, but I think that everybody enjoys to be amongst their own people. I like being amongst Muslims, Hindus enjoy the company of other Hindus. This is normal.

Pakistan should prioritize to become a great economic power and not waste it’s time to appease each and everybody! A strong economy can provide for everybody Hindus and Muslims alike. But our government is busy performing PR stunts by building a big fat Mandir for the 5 Hindus of Islamabad.

A regrettable and extremely disturbing reality.
How are MNAs like Ramesh Vankwani and Senator Krishna Kumari Koli dealing with this problem.
I waa listening to a Podcast on VOA on the plight of minority women in Tharparkar and the high rate of suicides there. Krishna Kumari, was attributing "internal problems " such as traditional domestic abuse the frequency of suicides rather than official administrative neglect of the region and dire poverty. I don't believe Krishna Kumari's analysis was entirely correct.

There you go again, turning into a drama Queen.

If it is not barred, then how can you make such a statement, there are many high ranking individuals from minority groups in all walks of life. Because Pakistan has Islam as official religion, I am aware there are few positions where being a Muslim is required, but what the heck does that have to do with discrimination. Stop being a child and look at thing holistically.

Just because Obama became president does not mean blacks in America are living in a paradise, and with 15% Muslim population in India, their jobs representation is only between 1% to 5% in almost all government departments, including the armed forces. don't pick and choose, life isn't perfect but discrimination and persecution are serious accusations, use your head. There are social issues, but that does not equal to organised discrimination or persecution.

In the UK, Muslims face of issues, some even have been beaten for being Muslim, studies have shown it is harder to get a job with a Muslim name, but it would be stupid to say we face organised discrimination or persecution. Please recognise issues for what they are, rather then trying to be holier then thou.

Those Hindus go to India for various reason, family, employment, new opportunities, and wanting to be in a Hindu majority country, and they go there with crazy stories so they will be accepted in India. Pakistan accepts people from all over the world, so what, people move between countries, stop making big drama out of it. and get real.

Make proper comparisons, otherwise its just silly talk. You have to judge Pakistan in caparison to other countries, especially countries in similar level of development.
No Hindu is forced to eat cow dung and drink cow piss, it happens to Muslims in India. No Hindu is force to say Allah u Akbar, in India they are force to shout Hindu slogans or they get beaten up or killed. get real and grow up. Cure yourself of this self-hating disease.

But, I do respect your desire to ensure they feel safe in our (there's and ours) homeland, so respect for that, just please don't over play it to a point you can only find faults.

You want to forcefully keep people in?

These numbers do not warrant the reaction they get. Government should stop politicising Hinduism.

If citizens have concerns regarding radical elements returning to the country, they can go through screening and at worst some de radicalisation program.

Making minorities head of state or PM or COAS won't work otherwise Muslims would be happy in Pakistan with the rights given to them.

Also Sindh has worse record in human trafficking. The government of Sindh actively indulges in demographic engineering of the administrative unit.

If it is not barred, then how can you make such a statement,
Constitution does bar non muslims to become head of state not coas or navy chief. When you bar specific section of society from a position/right, you cannot claim that they enjoy the equal rights. I thought this was common sense.

Lastly your ad hominems wont make your argument strong, try harder !

I agree fully.Unless and until minorities are fully integrated with special attention to their status we cannot have a fully inclusive society.
Our minorities are loyal Pakistani citizens and they have the right to equal economic opportunities, security, and representation.

During the tensions between India and Pakistan in February last year Dr.Ramesh Vankwani was in India on a religious pilgrimage. With an attack from India imminent Dr.Ramesh courageously took time off from his pilgrimage and sought an immediate meeting with Sushma Swaraj India's External Affairs minister. He was given just 15 minutes. During his meeting he pleaded for dialogue and peace but was curtly rebuffed. He returned immediately to Pakistan cutting short the rest of his trip to warn Imran Khan of an impending attack. He interviewed extensively on the media but no one in the Pakistani media believed him until the Balakot attack happened.
He was the only representative from Pakistan to represent Pakistan in the Indian media in the tense days before the attack.
No one should be accepted back. Who knows how many are sent back with a purpose by RAW
Our security agencies can look after that, All the agents caught and hanged so far have been so called "Muslims". The havoc wrought by the TTP, BLA, has all been done by "devout Muslims". The starving Parkari peasant with his few goats is more interested in living than dying.

.
I have rarely heard news regarding Pakistani hindus, let alone anything negative from them.

People here need a reality check. Minorities are definitely suppressed in Interior Sindh, only the Southern area, and urban centres are free from this discrimination in Sindh.

On one side, these people are not given the guarantee of state's security of their life and religion, and on the other hand they're extremely poor. What other choice could they have?

If your concern for them is their 'loyalty,' you need to realize that when you maybe earn and live off with your family with a 100 a day, your least concern is being 'loyal' to some state, and most concern with surviving!

Seems like people here have lost sense of being human.
hindus are most discriminated community in pakistan because india liberated bangladesh .

Give them rights, treat them well,
No one is appeasing Hindus. Equal treatment is not appeasement. The peasant from Tharparkar needs water for his animals, medical facilities, schools, roads, communications and power. This is provided to most areas of Pakistan except those areas that are exceptionally remote. With Tharparkar it is different.. Just because the region is sparsely populated but with a minority population it gets no development.A stones throw away from the border the population can see the bright lights and green fields of India. Rather than die of heat, disease and starvation they will move there.
So because of our bigoted neglect and discrimination, what do we want ? A completely depopulated Thar?. That too close to the strategicf border with India?

Pakistan should prioritize to become a great economic power and not waste it’s time to appease each and everybody! A strong economy can provide for everybody Hindus and Muslims alike.
Correct. Which is why all regions of Pakistan need equal treatment, and regions should not be discriminated against because of the population make up.

But our government is busy performing PR stunts by building a big fat Mandir for the 5 Hindus of Islamabad.

Drinking water in a Hindu village in Tharparkar is far more important than a temple in Islamabad. However, the temple in Islamabad is not being built by the government, but by "5" very rich Hindus of the Panchayat. So let them build the temple. It will be a great boost to the diplomatic community from Nepal, Mauritius, Fiji, Trinidad, and possibly Sri Lanka.
We will provide drinking water, schools, and medical facilities to the Hindus of Tharparkar.
That directly affects our security and population exodus.

They did a lot of damage when they left and this was fully exploited by their delusional media. I'd say this should be looked at carefully, they have no loyalty whatsoever, and now with their 'brothers' rejecting them have no where to turn, so are trying to head back.
There's also an issue of them being compromised by RAW.
That being said special cases should be given priority, but this whole sale return with fireworks isn't right.

If allowed back, I think they will be the most staunch of Pakistani loyalists.
