Most international metros have 2 language policy which includes English and the local language. Urdu is 1 of India's 18 official language and the official language in W Bengal, AP, UP, Delhi, JK etc.

Basically Urdu is hindi written in persian script with many words bought from both Hindi and persian. Its written from right to left, just opposite to ALL Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telgu, Kannada, Bengali. And persian is a foreign language, so is Urdu. Hindi is primary language in use in UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, MP, Bihar, Himanchal and Haryana - that's more than 50% of Indian population. This is the reason hindi is used as 3rd language in southern states too.

Branding English/Urdu as foreign and Hindi as native is nonsensical, Hindi and Sanskrit are also foreign languages, even if "50%" Indians speak Hindi.

The percentage of Hindi-ans living in B'luru is less than 5 % after Kannadigas its Telugus, Tamils and Urdu who are the majority. If BMRCL adopts 3 language policy it should be Kannada, English and either Tamil or Telugu.

Comparing Mahatma Gandhi with Sir Syed? If Mahatma Gandhi was a British lackey he would have gotten "Sir" as title and Noble Peace prize.
