High costs stall Army's plans on China border

this isn't a military build up we are just boosting defenses, if you are thinking India will attack first into Chinese territory you are a crazy person our policy is defense, and ask yourself why China has not been able to pull of a 1962 on us again? i'll answer for you it is because we are prepared this time, 1967 is an example of this and that forward policy was created by the pacifist naive Nehru's gov't like i said we learned from our mistakes

and its actually a JV between Ilyushin and HAL

tell what is your interpretation of Boosting defense on Chinese border? it's so ovious that the result of Boosting defense is to bring more weapons and more personals...if that's not build up then enlight me. I have never said that India gonna attack China first .

why China has not been able to pull of a 1962 on us again? Because we got what we fought for :D...why need to repeat another 62's war?

when you got belligerence from China obviously we need to boost defenses we are not putting troops right along the border we are just basing them in the state to fight off an invasion learn what a military build up is bro e.g the Cambodian-Thai situation is a buildup, anything we do in the NE is only for defense against invasions

Lol you guys surprise attacked with 80,000 troops against barely a division of Indian troops based in the NEFA, and i don't recall China keeping Sikkim or Arunachal Pradesh after 1962? :) you guys attacked us then just created a unilateral ceasefire and withdrew what did you get out of 1962? answer that for me

'Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai'....I can't believe how naive we were in 1962.

Yes, you were so naive that you hosted our largest separatist group in 1959, and then you implemented the Forward Policy in 1962 to take Chinese land... which led directly to the Sino-Indian war.

Anyone with half a brain would have realized that there would be a response.

Maybe Nehru thought that his strange Hindi phrase (Hindi Chini bhai bhai) was so charming that the Chinese leadership would just ignore all his other actions.

Veiled in the mist of humiliation, the facts and truths of the 1962 battle between China and India remained classified and unavailable the the Indian public.

It appears confusing to me why the India government opts for contradictory implementations of policies and fetters itself between irreversible nationalism instigated with misleading propaganda and stark strategies which India's capabilities are at the precipice of exercising them. India admitted Tibet as part of China while it accommodates Tibet's exile government; it knows that too strong nationalism would restrict the government's maneuverability but has to rely on it to counterbalance the sadness and humiliation resulting from the debacle in 1962; it well knows that the MacMahon's line is arbitrary to serve as the British's finesse to create disputes whenever they left their colonies yet sticks to it uncompromisingly, exhibiting not a tinge of flexibility.

I am not knowledgeable on China-India affairs. But I recommend Chinese and Indian members the thread below, which I found informative and insightful.

Not the same 1962 stuff again guys. Jeez. I'm back on this forum after 6 months and the names are new (apart from the usual suspects ;)) but the blah is the same!!

Nehru was a Gandhian Pacifist did not believe in war yet his naive ways and forward policy screwed us over he did not even think to put some extra manpower in the disputed territories but what ever this isn't 1962 any more its 2011, a 1962 won't ever happen again because we learned from the mistakes of the past...... since 1967 China has not tried any funny business

NO. If Indian bases its judgement of Beijing's intention on post 1962 tracked record, it's too dangerous a national decision for India and mishap will be doomed. China's exercise of restraint on the China-India border would be more properly understood as its strategic priority schedule, its focus having never been on its southeast border. This is also the reason why China is pacifying India of the tension between and keeping a lukewarm attitude on the disputed territory.

Chinese well know that the best tactic is to concentrate on what requires top priority to induce breakthrough. The last thing I would like to see is India's flukey attitude combined with its fault propaganda would unfortunately lead to another confrontation.

I am curious about whether India is willing to understand China's national tradition or character since its humiliation in 1962, from which the resulting sadness and indignation would be, generally speaking, blinding and irritating.

Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai was sold to Indians more than to Chinese. Almost in every discussion about Sino-Indian relations this term is looked back by Indian historians as a proof of Indian naivety at that time and from my side that stupid Nehru and his defence minister Krishna Menon is to blame for the debacle.Anyways 1962 caused irepairable damages to Sino-Indian relations and I don't see any change in that in near future.

From Wikipedia:
Many Indians view the war as a betrayal of India's attempts at establishing a long-standing peace with China and started to question Nehru's usage of the term "Hindi-Chini bhai-bhai" (meaning "Indians and Chinese are brothers"). The war also put an end to Nehru's earlier hopes that India and China would form a strong Asian Axis to counteract the increasing influence of the Cold War bloc superpowers.[2]

Indians are too sissy to pony up the money to fight the Chinese. Put the money where your mouth is. Spend the money to build up along the Chinese border, otherwise you are just a loud mouth sissy.

Sit quiet with you instigation, boy. India and China would never opt for arm race.

When do you become the spokesperson for India, boy?

Indians are just a bunch of loud mouth cowards when it comes to deal with China. They talk lots of hot air but when it comes time to put up money or life, they back away.

Dare to refute, big mouthed USASS huh?

India is not as belligerent as US and Soviet and the tension between China and India is strained yet not implacable, so a arm race is never expected to appear anytime soon, let alone the Chinese government confident and steady on its scheduled strategy.

I never intend to spoke for India, boy; but you can see the Pentagon is, as arrogantly as some USAss man, assuming itself as the world's SPOKESMAN. :azn:

Though I have no hope on this govt these days with their way of handling things, but I hope this will be cleared. if its not cleared then I can say se learned nothing from 1962. Shame on the Congress party, What a sad story for a great nation...
