Lol such planned satelite cities are there in every other country, we have Purbachal, Jhilmil near Dhaka and Ananya, Kalpalok, Kalurghat near Chittagong.

We aren't talking about these little 'township projects' here.None of them is comparable in any manner

This is only the construction of a railway track which is all that DMIC is about.

 What an ignorant troll-Its a true heavy haul railway which is going to be the backbone of DMIC-with axle load of more than 30 tonne - your tracks can't handle 20 tonne axle load

Two mega-ports are already operational.

First two cities are being built, five more would come up by phase 1

Now where is your Big B,Kid ?

Yes, in the long term, everyone gonna say once "upon a time there was a project called DMIC".

Planned city? as if Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai are all PLANNED CITIES.

Investment will be private its around 4-5 Bil right now but will increase as the project will begin to take shape . Look at any other project where private investment is involved its always in cycles.

@gslv mk3 I think our Bangladeshi friends should warn Japanese how bad a investment in DMIC is going to be.

They are satellite cities just like Noida, Gurgaon etc. which are satellites of Delhi.

You have only secured funding for the construction of railway tracks so just talk about that only. Rest of the project are just pipe dreams.

Our railway tracks are already under modernization process under a different project.

lol there is a system of financing. Investors initially assure the total fund and disburse it periodically as the projects progress. JICA has only pledged $4 billion while the rest of $95 billion required for DMIC has no assurance.

They are satellite cities just like Noida

Hardly comparable in size & infrastructure - clear ?

 Construction of Railway tracks - Dedicated freight corridor is the backbone of our industrial corridor and is a heavy haul railway.

quoting JICA

Under the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) Project, freight rail lines will be constructed along the Western Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai and the Eastern Corridor between Ludhiana, Delhi and Sonnagar. The Japanese ODA loan project (the Project) will focus on constructing approximately 1500 kilometers track of the Western Corridor between Delhi and Mumbai, connecting major cities in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana, as well as introducing electric locomotives capable of high-speed, high-capacity transportation. By meeting the high rate of growth expected in freight transportation and optimizing distribution networks, the Project will make a far-reaching contribution towards India’s economic development.

The DFC Project is an important part of “Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative”, which is a Japanese-Indian collaborative project for comprehensive infrastructure development to create India’s largest industrial belt zone by linking the industrial parks and harbors of the six states between Delhi and Mumbai in order to promote foreign export and direct investment, particularly those in Japan. Under the DMIC initiative, plans are also being implemented to create industrial parks and logistics bases with well-developed infrastructures in the area 150 kilometers to either side of the Western Corridor.

If you still don't understand - This is a heavy-haul railway..

Our railway tracks are already under modernization process under a different project.

 Track modernization is a different story, and much of your ' upgraded lines ' can't even handle an Indian freight wagon with axle load of 22.5 tons

Your railways is already decades behind.
Rest of the project are just pipe dreams.
lol there is a system of financing

And what is this kid ?

Here is a part of $ 5 billion investment by GoI - for two cities. This is separate from $ 4 billion Japanese loan.

DMIC: PM Narendra Modi govt clears Rs 4,318 cr to construct trunk infrastructure | The Financial Express

And as infrastructure is built, investors will move on....
Don't underestimate Indian companies. This expressway, the Formula 1 track & the sports city nearby was built by one single company - The Jaypee group

The Initiative of BIG-B (The Bay of Bengal Industrial Growth Belt) | Bangladesh | Countries & Regions | JICA

The BIG-B initiative is to accelerate industrial agglomeration along the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox's Bazar belt

Now check out the connectivity between these cities

Dhaka-Chittagong highway

And Dhaka Chittagong railway ( meter gauge, single line at many places )

Even many of India's tier 4 towns are connected by better highways and broad gauge fully electrified double lines !!!

See the pics above & cry some more.

you guys don't need any reason to burn, just someone writes Bangladesh and you guys start burning :omghaha:

you and all your attention seeking compatriots drag India into every discussion. Now go cry elsewhere.

Heavy haul/light haul whatever you may call it, the fact is DMIC is just a project of constructing a railway track and nothing else, rest are just pipe dreams that are being advertised by the politicians to lure fools like you.

 Track modernization is a different story, and much of your ' upgraded lines ' can't even handle an Indian freight wagon with axle load of 22.5 tons

Not only tracks the locomotives are also being upgraded. An MoU is already signed with CREC to construct an elevated highspeed railway between Dhaka and Chittagong.

Rs 4,318 crore is less than $1 billion, so in total you have secured about $5 billion for the project against $100 billion required, Mr. Hybrid Species.

And the Jaypee Group which invested in the formula 1 track came under a massive Rs56,000 crore or $10 billion debt and still struggling to repay that. Big lol
