Except a fringe minority who use it for their own ulterior motives no one cares to give a damn about it. If cows are processed for meat far from general hindu populace no one would notice it. Would you eat in a place where pork & beef are cooked together ? You will obviously be vary of pork getting mixed or by chance getting into other food or same utensils being used to cook to both.

Dude it is nothing but sensitivity. It becomes a issue when some fanboys sacrifice or openly process meat which leads to tension. What will happen if you have a butcher shop in street having temple or pork shop near mosque? Even though most ppl consume meat , it is still considered as haram. Most religious hindus wont consume meat on friday or other auspicious days.

It is not that morons who protest against beef consumption will save the cow. They will let it die on the streets.

Responding to Hassan Nisar, even in Pakistan in Pakistan people don't eat cows who give milk, cattle, etc. But there does come a point when a cow stops giving milk, stops giving cattle. So why not eat it then? Once a cow has reached this stage it is of no value except it will consume more food. If you eat it at that time, you get iron, vitamins etc. And on top of that, you get leather! That you can use to make 10,000 things.

So overall, i don't agree with his point since it makes little sense.

yes that is what happens in india too. old and non-milk producing cows are sold to abattoirs. But ppl who have only few or one/two persist it with them as they become emotionally attached to it just like a dog or cat.
