Pakistan should return the gesture and start working on toppling her for someone with a lot more backbone.
She has wasted a lot of Bengali potential and has been a roadblock in Pakistani-Bengali reconciliation. Once the new regime settles in......Pakistan and Bangladesh can open a 3rd front....from Bengali side, in terms of helping, influencing and arming rebels in North Eastern Indian territory...
Major havoc can be made in the red and neighboring Indian states of Bangladesh:

And looks like the relationship has been thawing for quite some time:

Congratulations to Bangladesh !
Of all the three nations that constituted "old India" it has gone furthest on the path to economic stability and social progress.
Best of all it has developed a national identity based on cultural and linguistic pride. A remarkable secular constitution implemented by a strong judicial system has ensured that Bangladesh has remained immune from the horrors of religious fundamentalism and extremism.
It's national security policy is even more remarkable where it is using its geography consisting of a river delta system as a natural defense while at the same time is building a robust and extremely effective defense apparatus somewhat like Singapore to deliver an unacceptable cost of invasion to a potential enemy. Like Singapore Bangladesh is geographically very small as compared to its neighbors but enjoys a strategic advantage simply because of its location keeping its potential enemies "off balance". Singapore is well prepared for a nuclear strike using its excellent Metro system as a nuclear shelter. Bangladesh probably has some similar plans but these are well kept secrets. One indication is that Bangladesh is undertaking a huge reform of its railroads and there are rumors of plans for deep underground metro systems. Bangladesh seems to follow the Israeli pattern where the disadvantages of a small geographical area are offset with careful planning.
Unlike Israel and Singapore Bangladesh has a substantial coastline and inland waterways. Inland waterways cannot be easily disrupted by bombing like a mountain road, highway or railroad system. These can be made somewhat inoperable by dropping mines, or bombing the docks for river barges. Bangladesh has invested heavily in mine sweeping, and air defense.
I'm assuming you're referring to the reference to Pak-Bangla ties going downhill after Hasina's election and her focus on re-opening the wounds of 1971?The tone of this article is hostile to Sheikh Hasina and bad taste. This is supposed to be the most reputed newspaper in Pakistan.

Additionally you have a very strategic advantage on the "chickens neck" and some "dog leg territories".Thank you. What you said is correct!
Bangladesh has a natural defence mechanism and it will be an extremely difficult task to attack and capture it due to its terrain. One also needs to comprehend that we are a nation of 160 million, probably 7th largest by population in the world by now. It is not easy to subdue such a populace with an incoming military attack. Its simply not going to happen. Our conventional military touches 300k+ in number, with 6 million in trained Ansars/VDP that fall under military command in times of war. This is not counting BDR or even forces such as RAB and SWATs who mostly are all recruited from the military. These 3 forces will easily cross 100k in numbers currently. This also does not take into account our special forces such as SWADS, PGR, Black Eagles etc, the numbers of which are secretly guarded.
Technically speaking, our military has very strong emphasis on guerilla and riverine warfare. That will be our go to strategy after few initial days of conventional warfare. And I will bet any invading force will find it nearly impossible to march towards Dhaka, given tank warfare isn't going to work outside north-east Bangladesh. They have to fight on foot with amphibious capabilities and this is where we will have immense advantage. After all, how many bombs can you drop from the sky unless you are US? Even that does not win you war nowadays!
Congratulations to Bangladesh !

Disagree...@idune : .
Next they will insist Pakistan join some form of union with "Bangladesh" and therefore advance the Akhanda Bharat agenda on behalf of BJP.
Bangladesh is our Israel
Vishwambarji,These are just talks.... nothing will be in reality..... geography won't allow that..... India and Bangladesh are natural neighbors and Bangladesh won't have any political or strategic advantages by strengthening ties with Pakistan over India..... in reality Bangladesh will always be more closer to India than Pakistan....... Bangladesh is our Israel.....
Hey I sad dar's interview on hard talk. He has one property and is so innocent.....ummm???? NOTThis is what happens when you don't have chor at the top. IK is making a sustained effort to build Pakistan's foreign relations.
